View Full Version : Late again
wide eye 09-06-07, - 09:27 AM Our local newspapers are a joke, they always following behind BI with their late johnny come lately reporting. We been making noise about this for months if not years. http://www.jonesbahamas.com/?c=45&a=14046 They almost as jokey as gubment.
How in the world Bahamians get so nasty? or is it Bahamians?
I remember visiting my grandmother on the family island, and although the islanders were not rich, they took pride in their surroundings.
How could a generation that took pride in their surroundings bring up a generation that is so nasty?
So busy running after the dollar they forgot to install morals and value in their children that was instilled in them.
Alien 09-06-07, - 09:37 AM It's the vendors.....with that, they need a clean up for a public place. My God, the government promised sanitation of it's public faccilities. What do you want the vendors to do, go and clean up government property?
Or, do the job that the government is SUPPOSED to be doing?

This is why the Bahamas is producing such a lazy and sluggish work force, everything is the gubment, the gubment. The government did not make the dirt and throw the garbage there. Bahamians should be able to keep their work and immediate surroundings clean, my goodness,, the height of nastiness.
Tafadhali 09-06-07, - 09:43 AM but how could ms.mckenzie, the director of enviro health honestly say she was not aware of the filthy conditions at arawak cay? wth?
wide eye 09-06-07, - 09:43 AM Thats the problem, "the gubment 'possed ta clean dis area". Maybe if the nasty *** vendors did not cause such a mess and cleaned up after themselves like normal people there would not be such a problem. I still say if the vendor is nasty, evict his disgusting self and let someone who has work ethic and pride go in there and make a dollar.

Not quite sure what you are saying, but it is the Vendors garbage. So, once I take my garbage and deposit it on Goverment property (40 feet from my establishment) it is now the problem of the Goverment.
The garbage has markings of where it came from (food and debris from a restaurant). It should be the Vendors that police the area and keep it clean or be evicted.

Woman. This is a PUBLIC PLACE!
The government is SUPPOSED to clean it up....
Government is SUPPOSED to give proper sanitation....
I don't see any private sanitation companies, willing to take on a task that needs attention like this one does. So, what is your problem?
With that, if I were to walk onto a government job, without going through the proper channells, what do you expect me to get? Why would I do a government job for FREE. People wanted a government job, and what did this administration do? FIRE THEM...SENT EM HOME. And in the same breath, blamed the PLP for hiring them?
:dgi:
Ten of those people, could have been placed directly at Arawak Cay to clean up that dump daily.
Your boys are stupid beyond belief. Utterly selfish, self centered morons who don't have half the wits their mother's created them with.
:taped2:
but how could ms.mckenzie, the director of enviro health honestly say she was not aware of the filthy conditions at arawak cay? wth?
The problem is Bahamians only like position to show-off, not to perform. This is alwasy the cry from those in leadership, they did not know.....how in the world you could be running a department and don't know if the work is being done.
This is a prevailing culture amongst Bahamian leaders, they are only in the position for the job title, but not the work. She should have been ashame to say that.

Well. I think you see the government waste bin. And, I may be mistaken, but government picks up your trash, or is supposed to pick up your trash. So, if they don't come to your house, won't you be pissed?
Would you go every week, doing a government job in taking your trash to Harold Road, missing out on the opportunity to use a government service?
I think every last one of you, would let that garbage pile up even in your own bedroom, if it was a government service. So, quit your yappin!
Send a permanent team, preferably one of those same low level employee's ya fired last week, and put them on Arawak Cay duty. Give them a piece of broken down truck from Min of Works, and get them on clean up duty on Arawak Cay DAILY!
This is not rocket science.

It seems that a private company has been hire to dispose of the garbage. This is no excuse as the fish fry and potters cay should be inspected weekly. Slackness can't done.

Is it me, or is this job simple?
:dgi:
Get ten people out on Arawak Cay......pay them fair salary, give them a uniform and broken down truck, and get them to just clean it up daily!
My God. This whole thing would not even cost 60k a year.....Gasoline for the truck included! Fire one of them old heads in one of the Ministries, hire 4 people who need the work for God's sake, and just get a NEEDED service, done!
What's wrong with some of these people!?!?
:dgi:
wide eye 09-06-07, - 09:55 AM Alien - why should government have top clean up after these vendors that probably pay next to nothing in rent, cause the conditions, and make a hefty profit from the area. Maybe they(the vendors) need to step up and look after theirs and their own like the grown adults they are supposed to be.
