I must tell you this story!

Life is full of amusing incident. They are there if one keeps one's eyes and ears open. Today I witnessed such and incident.

I stopped into a shop to buy a newspaper and some gum. There was a line of about four people at the cashiers. The cashier was on the phone as the line waited, as we Bahamians do - in unprotesting silence, for some minutes, for her to finish. We all could hear her talking - "Oh! Yes baby. You know dat's true baby - tonight baby tonight......."

All of a sudden a White woman (I could tell by her accent, that she was English) broke from the line, stormed to front and grabbed the receiver from the startled cashier's hand and hung the phone up with an almighty slam! She then said in a calm but matter-of-fact voice, "Work now, fornicate latter!!!" She returned to her place in line. A trickle of laughter ran up and down the line of waiting people. A Black man addressed us all as he pointed to the English woman, "Put this Lady to the front of the line!" We all nodded in agreement as he escorted her to the front. The cashier was visibly angry but she had the good sense to realize she was out numbered.

I don't know who the English Lady was but I propose that we form a new government office called "Customer Service" and we put her in charge! In honor of her, I raise the flag! :uk: She spoke for all of us who are fed up with poor service. I only wish I had the guts to do something like that.

Great story man, I wish I were there to get a belly aching laugh. For too long Bahamaians have had to endure poor, disgusting cutomer service. Well I say we finally set ourselves free. Kudos for that English lady, too bad we (Bahamians) could not stand up and take a stand in our own country, but we will get there.
