I dont know if is a common thing but apparently me along with a few tourists where the only ones with the jaw dropped :jawdroop: and confused.
At Tony Macarroni on taino Beach yesterday there was a lady with three kids. The smallest one is the only one who is not playing around and such and I dont know what happened but the next thing the lady is spaking this little girl merciless. She couldnt be more than 4 years old. She started with her hand and then moved on to the shoe. :dgi:
I stayed about 1 hour more after that and the little girl was sobbing with her face down on the table. :(

Well abuse in public or private is one thing, but if my child gets outta line in public, heck yeh I would spank him/her in public. You wait till you get home to spank them after they den been acting up for 20-30 mins they will mess around and start thinking its ok for them to act the fool.

Classical conditioning dont work unless the effect immediately follows the cause! lol.

i absolutely disagree with the concept of beating children in public ... do your timeouts at home, where you won't humiliate the kid. it breaks my heart to hear a child crying.

was anyone in charge concerned with the mother's behavior?

It breaks my heart to see rude children not disciplined too, whether in public or home or wherever. I'm not referring to the issue referenced in this thread but just in general.

For instance, if your child lets say, cusses you out in public - tell me you are just going to sit there and be like, "anyway, I'll deal with you later." Hellllz no. Wherever you as a child decide to show ya lil behind off is exactly where you are gonna get dealt with.

I use to run! wah beat me come and catch me! lol

but seriously there's nothing wrong with spanking in public, beating is another thing.

I really dont think I will have this problem because right now my handsome nephew knows to straighten up and fly right with one look from me!

My sister was telling me the story about her friend three bad boys ask "where yo mean stistah" then the choruschimed in yeah where yo mean stistah...man when she tell me that I died- they only met me once-them children misconstrued structure and guidance for mean because I had them in line!

if you haven't dealt with your child at home, to the point that they would even dream of cussing you out in public, then you're on your own :) in the first place! the first time i was told to go out and pick my switch was the LAST time i had to be told to go outside and pick a switch.

and no, i have nothing against a timely demonstrative swat. but beating a child in public (in private, you're on your own) until they cry should be a crime.

I have to admit, Islandgyal is right on this one. Kids who act out in public, more than likely act out in private as well.

yep that was fun .. still remember those days :D

Do the training at home before you take them out in public ..

Now if its a little spank, then its okay, but if they are there knocking them over and over and over with a shoe, which has in the past been deemed a deadly weapon BTW, thats child abuse!!
