Poincianna Hill Building, Meeting Street
P.O. Box N-3730
Nassau, The Bahamas
Telephone: 502-4810
or Telephone: 502-4700, Fax: 502-4874
Start with the Bahamas Ministry of Health. They can give you the best information.

why don't u sign on with a Nurse Travel agency in the US? If u are an RN u could make a minimum of $60,000/annum. The agency will also provide u with an apartment, rental car, comprehensive health insurance, a 401k, and travel cost.

What island are you interested in? If Nassau, I'd go with Doctor's.
If Freeport the only choice is the Rand, but there are lots of clinics that might hire you on if you have a good CV.
The pay might not be what you are used to in the US, but if you are in England dealing with what is going on in the NHS, you know the drill.
If you have an MSN, you might also want to consider teaching at COB.
Are you Bahamian?

aminat77 09-11-07, - 04:40 PM To go to the Bahamas? the nursing Agency i worked with last year: progressive nursing only did US teritories...btw the myth about nurses in the US making an over 60 or 70 a year is just that a myth...with travel nursing they deduct your housing...etc from your pay, and the pay depends on the state you travel to and your speciality

I beg to differ. This is no myth about the monies u can make. If u want confirmation, I can give u a number to a nurse recruiter now who will answer all of your questions. My wife works for an Agency , so I know the 'myth' u speak of is a lie. In the US, nurses are required to work only 36 hours.
If u work for certain agencies, yes they will deduct from your salary or give u a lesser rate, but there are others who are not like that.

Truthseeker,
It really does depend on where you are in the country and your company/recruiter.
I've worked travel, agency and per diem with numerous companies. Sometimes I clean up. Sometimes I just do okay.
