View Full Version : Why wasn't an audit held for Bahamians??
Objective thought 09-11-07, - 12:40 AM When the FNM was the govt between 92-2002, they set a policy that stated that all persons who were here prior to 1985 would be eligible for some sort of status.. They never asked anyone to leave this country and apply for their status from their home country or their parents country...
The FNM govt held an audit for the illegals who applied for status here in this country and persons who were born here and were seeking some sort of status within four months of becoming the new govt of the Bahamas in 2007..
Well how can they tell a Bahamian who was hired by the former govt that they have to be terminated in order to clean up the system because they were improperly hired. And that they can reapply for the same jobs that they had and saying that they would have a good chance of being rehired, what nonesense!!!!!
Why could they not have an audit of the "hundreds of persons "(according to the FNM's party chairman or the minister of education) who have been improperly hired by former govts (going back some 10 years) and start the process of regulating them...After all they are Bahamians!!!
Shouldn't they look after their own first rather than throwing single mothers of 2-5 children only making minimum wages out on to the streets with no where to turn????
They did not ask those foreign persons seeking status to leave the country and reapply , so why do the Bahamians have to be dismissed from their jobs and reapply????
THIS IS NOT FAIR!!!!!
Bahamians must be treated fairly!!!
This govt will go to great extents to make the foreigner feel comfortable in this country but go to even greater extents to make Bahamians feel rejected by this country's government!!!!

Too bad if you don't care about your country!!!
When the PLP returns to office and does the same thing to persons hired by the FNM, I hope you find nothing wrong with that either!!!!!
Tell me if what I wrote makes sense or not and say why you believe what you believe......Is that too hard for you????
Or you just insist on not discussing the issues????

There is no need for an Audit for Bahamians! We're citizens.
Audits=Immigrants, Census=Bahamians.
And yes, there is a difference.
Also, once you know who Immigrants are, then obviously the rest must be citizens yeh? Go figure.

Just so you know, the dictionary says differently. Look it up yourself!!!
I'll help you seeing that you don't have time and making your own meaning!!!
1 a. A formal examination of an organization's or individual's accounts or financial situation b: the final report of an audit 2: a methodical examination and review...
Read next time and take off your political hat for one minute and think Bahamian first, PLEASE!!!!

Oh lawd, back to English Class we go............
a) Audit is defined as: an official examination and verification of accounts and records; examine for purposes of verification:
b) Census is defined as: an official enumeration of the population, with details as to age, sex, occupation, etc.
While the both of these events may seem similar, if YOU would check your dictionary, you would see that there are significant differences.
An audit is conducted to not only verify but also to examine. Eg. During an audit you can verify and evaluate the status of an immigrant in the Bahamas as in why they came or on what ground was/wasn’t citizenship granted to them etc.. You cannot verify the status of a Bahamian living in the Bahamas seeing as to how this is their country. Get it?
A census is conducted; periodically I might ad just as a simple re-count of the population. You're a PLP, you should understand re-counting better than anyone else hehehee. But nevertheless, in addition the purpose of a census is also for statistical data. Eg. How much of the Population is youth? How much of the population is between the ages of 18 and 35? Get the drift.
Special note-just because you choose to use both words as the same doesn’t mean they are. Clearly I just explained to you the difference.

Whose choice was it to be single mothers? When I last checked besides the Virgin Mary everyone else has a baby daddy. I am so sick of the single mother story..
People need to take responsibilty for their actions and stop blaming the Goverment. Don't have kids if you cannot afford to maintain them. If by mistake you have one, you know you drop out of school and ain gat no high school diploma nor the options of finding a good job.
DON'T HAVE NO MORE!
CONTRACEPTIVES FREE AT THE GOVERNMENT CLINICS!

I know you had or have a hard time in school because you are contradicting yourself!!!
A census is used for a completely different reason from an audit!! Get it??
The govt is an organization. An audit needs to be held in order to find out/examine the status of the so called hundreds of persons who were hired improperly by both former govts going back some 10 years according to minister Carl Bethel..
In most cases the records of how they were hired need to be found out so that they can be regulated....
You have shown no dictionary meaning suggesting that a country cannot audit its working class citizens..
If you would kindly remove your head from the H.I.P for a minute you might be able to see more clearly!!!!
