alot of bahamains keep shouting we rich our income per capita is 20k plus. what people dont realize is that doesnt mean didly squat. if having the same GDP now and the population of the bahamas was decreased by half the income per capita would double. so what does this mean? it means absolutly nothing.

being that the majority of the population makes minimum wage or just over minum wage that should tell you the majority of bahamians dont make or have 20k plus. next couple this would the fact that everything in the bahamas has a 50% tax hike on it and a persons pay check/buying power is significtly decreased becuase of it.

the tourism boom, the bahamas "small" population, and the youth of the bahams (34yrs old) is the bahamas's saving grace at this time.

how are things going to be another 34 yrs from now when the population is near a million. i was very disappointed to read a few weeks ago that one of the countries mentioned in the article choose to participate in LNG and the article stated how good that was for that nations economy.

places like barbados, st. kitts, trinidad are not only depending on a tourism goose. they are growing, they are diversifying.

LORD HELP THE BAHAMAS IS CSME gets off the ground, the bahamas will go from top of the caribbean to bottom of the barrel over night.

They finally came and got it, just a couple nights ago .. i was surprised as it happened either late afternoon or very early evening .. Yippie!! BTW this weekend would have made 4 frigin weeks! :(
