View Full Version : Losing loose skin.
Alien 09-12-07, - 03:49 PM Are there any tips for losing loose skin?
I had a dramatic weight loss, and now I am trying to firm up. I know that it takes time, but, I want it sooner rather than later as I feel I have not been doing the proper thing in any event.
In case you didn't know, I came down from a solid 250 to a cool 210; and maintaining very comfortably.
I gat some skin I need to deal with as, you can see my definition, but, I want it a little tighter than what I see.
I know we have some health nuts out there...hit me up with something good!

have you been hitting the gym? exercise is key.
body-firming cream might help too.
probably need to speak to a dermatologist. ;)
Sunnyjohn 09-12-07, - 03:58 PM For very young people often toning and building muscle will help. Young skin may snap back into shape.
For some, no exercise will help. You might need plastic surgery.
Have you seen those people that loose drastic amounts of weight and lots of loose skin? It may be the same here.
Try toning and lifting weight first for a few months
Alien 09-12-07, - 04:04 PM Yea. I work out like a jihadist now. In fact, I allways worked out and had muscles, it was just that I was too heavy.
This time, I made a hard effort since I had the time to shave off the extra pounds. I mean, it took me 4 months and NO BEER!
It paid off and now I like the way I feel and look. About time I cut back on all of that excess that I just could not shake, even when I took my sport seriously, I never got down to where I needed to be and where I am now.
But, thank's and I heard about creams, but, don't know which one to use. In fact, I am very skeptical about any kind of foreign stuff. Some people even said surgery, and others said just give it time with proper work ethic.
I think I want the proper work ethic....
I certainly don't want surgery...absolutely not!

I would say try some creams, Hydration is the key, get quivalent to at least 10 glasses of water per day or eat foods high in water(i.e melons). anything with Q-10, vitamin E, Hyauronic acid, collegen, soy, ( $10-15) I use Nivea brand products as my daily cream or body lotion, Also changing the body composition to fill in space, more muscles. HYDRATION helps with elasticity.

Unless you have a problem retaining water, water will not put any weight on you.

Well. Why when I get on the scales when I drink a glass of water, the scale goes off the richter?
I can't drink a glass of water and not gain about 2 pounds...it's that bad. In fact, sometimes I scare myself on the scale. Like for example, I can start out at 93 kilos when I start my work out, and then can be up to 96-97 kilos by the end of it.
I don't get that at all...

It's only temporary. You will hopefully excrete the water from your body by means of urination, feces, sweat, or saliva.

Yea....I was hoping it would be, because it is scary when you jump on and off and you gain 2-3lbs after a work-out.

Well the scale will register the water in your stomach, but if you have healthy kidneys, pure water should move through your urinary system in 45-one hour.
(That's if you aren't dehydrated and are drinking and not eating).
Do you ankles or fingers swell (edema)?

What I am saying is that you must have the right stuff inside as well as out. 2 prong approach. Tight taught skin requires at the very minimum liquid hydration. It will repair the skin at the cellular level, creams and stuff help on the surface. Water weight is the first weight to go it should not stick around unless you are eating rather unhealthy. Like eating high sodium foods may cause a person to retain water. If drinking alot of water is new to you you may retain a little because your body was starved for it, dehydrated but once in the habit it it will regulate, and if you are working out really hard than you will sweat it out.
