Does anyone still sell them? My electric is on the way out, and I have the roof space for a solar unit. Are there duty incentives for importing them?

CG 09-13-07, - 01:32 PM I was in Nassau Restaurant Supples a few days ago getting some other things. As I waited I noticed a number of brochures on the counter dealing with Solar. Maybe they do solar as a side line but it is worth a call. If not I am sure they could tell you the name on the brochures. There are plenty of places in the US I could get the stuff from, but if I can get it from a local reseller for a fair price, might as well. I don't quite understand why they aren't more popular here. Hard to educate Bahamians that it will save them money in the long run. I had a difficult time selling them 4 years ago, so I quit. Did Christies, Shane Gibson's, Red Carpet Inn and a few others CG 09-13-07, - 02:48 PM Cool, I'll check em out. Beats me! They should be mandatory on each new house built. Think of how much money we would save, nationally, on electricity. BEC should be giving all the help they could to home owners that wanted to instal one now. Sunnyjohn 09-13-07, - 02:57 PM Beats me! They should be mandatory on each new house built. Items like this should be duty free. In California and many states they give you electric bill credits for installing stuff like this. You also get a tax credit when you buy it (of your IRS bill).
