A Biology teacher at the R. M. Bailey Senior High School was reportedly attacked by two male students yesterday.

The incident reportedly took place some time after 2 p.m., when the 11th and 12th grade students got into a fist-fight with the teacher and had to be restrained by other staff members and students.

When The Nassau Guardian arrived at the Robinson Road campus shortly before 4 p.m., an English female teacher who was asked about the fight described it as a "minor incident."...

An 11th grade female student described the Biology teacher as a "quiet, Christian man."

It sound like the teacher stepped in to break up a fight.

Good for him for being proactive. Stay safe though!

Wow! In my day if you so much as lifted a hand to a teacher you got such a cut hip that you limped for the rest of your life. Of course today kids have "rights." In my day you earned rights they were not a automatic. :)

Yea, children have no fear of adults and they think they and we are company. I see grown men fraternising with young schoolboys, and even refering to schoolboys as "my boy". Unbeleivable! In Jamaica, students still refer to their male teachers and adult males as "Sir", in classic English tradition. We pamper children and make excuses for them. They are to do as they are told, period, and without hesitation. We need to go back to the time when right or wrong, children were always wrong when an adult or someone in authorty was involved.

this was practically the first week of school...what happened to the excitement and happiness spell of a new school year and the new clarks that come with it?

the signs are telling...if only sociologist, psycologist govt officials would step
up to the plate, put an official seal on it and say what we already know.
