View Full Version : Greenslade vs Dames for "Da BIG JOB!"
Sunnyjohn 09-17-07, - 10:02 AM It seems, that the race is already on even though Farquharson has 18 months or more to go.
Division may be growing among the ranks of the Royal Bahamas Police Force as some senior officers are gunning for Senior Assistant Commissioner Ellison Greenslade to be appointed the next Commissioner of Police, but many junior rates are set on backing Assistant Commissioner Marvin Dames, The Nassau Guardian has learned. It is understood, however, that Police Commissioner Paul Farquharson does not intend to sever ties with the law enforcement organization for another two years.

Man I said it before, and I will say it again. Dames is damaged goods. He is an over blown cop, with a political tint that is absolutely mind blowing.
You can pick a side, but don't be biased with the side you pick at the risk of everything else. No one heard of Dames in the last 5 years. Same can be said of Greenslade, but, Greenslade has not sounded totally partisan for anyside, where Dames has almost showed us he is a talking parrot for the FNM....
We have a problem with the Force being politisized as it is now....if Dames is COP, this would get worse and he would have to either step down, or learn how to be dictated too as an an ineffective COP.
Everyone could have seen that the "scandal" involving Greenslade was "man made", ran by Dames's sister herself. LOL......
Out of sheer decency, and as nice as a person Dames may be, for the sake of the force and for the sake of the integrity of the force, or what's left of it, he should be bi-passed on this promotion round.
JMO!
All things taken into account, I would give the nod to Greenie, I think he has more of the respect of his fellow officers having come through the ranks. Not taking anything away from Dames but that is certainly an edge Greenie has.
12play 09-17-07, - 05:03 PM Is there any precedent for someone from the lower ranks, say super or chief super, being given the top job, either here in The Bahamas or some where else in the Commonwealth? I vote for none of the above. I would like to see someone else given the job, maybe even an outsider from the Caribbean region, just to shake things up and keep everyone alert.

Why oh why do Bahamians respect 'outsiders' so much???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're corrupt too, or worse than our own! At least we know who we're dealing with, if it's one of us.
