Miller gave a tooth for rotting cars throughout the commonwealth, it would seem to me that he would be shouting from the hilltops for LIMITS to the vehicles imported here. On Harbour Island alone, with a population of 1,900 tops, there are four THOUSAND golf carts registered. Add to that the trucks, the status cars, the minimokes, the motorcycles and the bicycles -- on an island not even three miles long and maybe a half mile wide -- and you are talking about one stink downsea. Where's the planning? Why does everything our governments, PLP and FNM alike, have to be reactive, anyhow? Tina 08-04-04, - 11:51 PM My question here is can most Bahamians afford a new brand car? But forget all that! Why do we have to import foreign cars? Why don't the government invest $10 million dollars in a Bahamian car factory on an island like Andros? Why can't I drive a car called Flamingo or Blue Marlin? Something that I could relate to. If we produce our own cars we can export and not only that, we can have a reason to ban some foreign cars from coming in the country. I would be happy to drive a Bahamian car. We need to stop complaining and find solutions. Why don't we talk about what is being done with all the millions that customs make each year? How is that invested? Again Delroy you prove that you are a wery young and not too informed about industrial matters. Well Delroy, why dont you buy a Bahamian quality Bahama buggie and make a top for it in case of rain. You are also looking for things to be banned coming in to the country, GROW UP KIDDO.
