Lincoln 08-10-04, - 05:20 AM i think the damage cuased by people getting loans for new cars is more devistating to our people than any rebuilt car.
The only people who are at risk by these cars are the insurance rip off companies and the persons who own the new car lots. So they are using their puppet PLP law-mongers to pass laws to get money back in their pockets.

i dont have to, and i didnt think you were talking to me in paticular!
no need to have clash on every little thing cg...you dont have to disagree on everything on this site, becasue we very vehemently disagree on one or two!
that is a liberal trap, and you cant get caught up in it...

he needs to look at the amount of cheap jap cars coming into the country, too many cars for such a small island, at this rate, there will be no room to drive in a year or so. Also, most of them are pieces of crap anyway, and the deisel are not taken care of properly.
anyhow, no more duty :-0

and then......
loans do need to be harder to get though, seems they give a loan to anyone, and then dont explain all the red ink properly.
They are not all crap, but there should be a ruglation on how old the cars can be, as when someone pays cash for a $500 or $1000 or even $2000 landed car, they are unlikely to pay any more money to keep it up properly, as is what is happening in Nassau now; especially on diesel vehicles. My friend has 3 of them, 2 diesel, though he keeps up the more expensive one, he doesnt do much to the other 2 cheap ones, which sput out smoke.

By the way, id never get another loan in the Bahamas, the banks screw you over big time here. Id save and pay cash for one from the US, 2 years old in good condition, for more than half the cost :-) I was one of those suckers the local car companies stuck it to me, thought i was getting a good warranty, as it was new, turned out to be 1 year only, while its like 10 year warranty in the US!

Rory do you have any mechanical or engineering knowledge? Don't buy into the american hype, besides emissions and some modifications to the body you are getting the same vechicle.

No, im a driver, not a mechanic. However, I doubt they sell the Jeep Cherokee in Japan :-) Though they do have a version made in china called Super Cherokee and it costs much more, plus less power. Ive owned several Jap cars and buy American right now, but if I had the money Id buy German if you know what I mean. Ofcourse i cant buy anything right now.
