My Brother in law my fishing buddy for near 19 years died yesterday. I spent most of the morning holding his wife and the afternoon holding my wife my wife. Then cried by myself. We were a team the 3 of us (till my other brother in law could not handle my transition). He was the boat handler when I was in the water, my life was in his hands every time I got in the water. I remember the first time we went out like it was yesterday. He had never handled a boat for a diver before me and he had never seen any who could dive like me. I went down swam along the bottom picked up 7 or 8 conch when I got back to the surface he was standing on top deck looking for me. He said he was so scared because he did not know how he was going to tell his sister he lost me. (We were not married yet). Well I taught him how tide and wind affected the boat and how to estimate where I would come up when diving in tide. To make sure the sun was not in his face when I was in the water to keep the engine exhaust down wind as it would be a problem for my breathing. By the time we took our lunch break he was a pro. For me Goober sandwich and water and back in the water in a half hour.
I will not be posting for the next 7 days after I close this session.

I am just amazed how a "community" of strangers have become a "family" like this crew here on BI...even deaths in each of our true true famlies impacts this unique BI family!

Anderson has been 7 days and you will be remembered. Thank you all so much for you kind responces they are heart felt. Licks as you have said, BI is a family yeah we all don't see eye to eye but what family does.
