It seems this is a two-fold problem.

1. The shops don't always know what the farmers have or like the cuts they produce.

2. We Bahamians have a tendency not to "trust" local meat that is not from the sea,

I would have thought it would be a health issue (low regulations on food safety and handling at the local farms?), but then the way the local stores keep the meat once they get it, that argument is out the window. As to fish, I imagine we have more cases of food poisoning in the Bahamas from Fish than we do from meat.

We have purchased some good pork from a farmer off Carmichael Rd. And cheaper than the markets.

I am moving in the direction of only eating Bahamain produced meat, mostly pork, and mutton.
