View Full Version : It was just a way to make some extra change
A woman took responsibility for most of the marijuana found in an apartment she shared with a roommate.
Police found 121 pounds of marijuana with a wholesale street value of $185,000 when they raided Lorna Joseph's two- bedroom apartment on Refuge Drive, off Cowpen Road. The search warrant was in Joseph's name.
As a result of the seizure, they arrested Joseph, her roommate Latoya Seymour, and Demetria Davis, of McKinney Drive, charging them with marijuana possession with intent to supply.
And last week, one of those women pleaded guilty, but Magistrate Carolita Bethell has postponed sentencing her until October 8 when prosecuting inspector Ercell Dorsett will tell the court how much drugs were found in Seymour's room.
Seymour explained her actions, "It was just a way to make some extra change."
