Are Bahamians only patriotic on July 10?

And has any one seen the Wrist and Head bands in the colors of the Bahamas flag.

Just got a pair from the sports locker.

--see profile photo. Sorry, I didn't know how to put it in the body of the text.

I don't know if wearing "patriotic clothing" makes you patriotic.

To be Patriotic means to be inspired by love for your country. The word there is "inspired." Putting up the flag does not make one patriotic - it is WHY one puts up that flag that does.

You’re absolutely right! However, it’s symbolic of how we show our love for our country. It also helps to foster pride in your country.

To be fair though, I should tell you where this question originated. A friend of mine who works in a sporting good store downtown, told me the guy who was selling the wrist and head bands tried to sell them to the store owner, but the Conchy Joe store owner said he could only buy a few because, and I quote, "Bahamians are only Patriotic for one day and that’s July 10.” So there it is the whole story.
