hey guys, i thought u may be interested in knowing what's happening here in tci. it appears as if we may be on the brink of some civil war. read this letter which was sent to world organizations and media houses from the opposition party here:

RE: POLICE HARSSAMENT/USURPATION OF GUBERNATORIAL FUNCTIONS/THUS ACTIVITY BY GOONS AND THUGS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT ON ORDERS OF THE PREMIER/MICHAEL MISICK

I write to you in my capacity as Chairman of the Official Opposition Party here in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

I am reliably informed that the Premier has successfully usurped the Constitutional function over the Police and has given “orders that should Finbar Grant or myself” show up on the Island of West Caicos to solve the Labour unrest owing to corrupt policies of His Government that we should both be arrested. Excellency this is a serious matter. It is a critical meltdown of Law and Order in these islands. I ask why is it that you are allowing this Government to break the law, take the law into his own hands.

I must also advise that we have officially lodged this complaint with the Police here in Providenciales because it represents the final straw in the destruction of our democracy being Police Harassment at the orders of a man who has no direct or indirect responsibility for the Police. Except at your indulgence.

I am also informed that the Premier has ordered his police goons and thugs to falsely search and accuse the Hon Grant of drugs when all in this community know better. He is a law abiding citizen and an officer of the Supreme Court. Excellency this is serious and you are playing around.

You are lying to us, protecting this corrupt thievish Premier and his dictatorship which falling apart.

I am demanding an investigation. We will not stand by again and see crime by the Premier and his Ministers actively covered up by you.

You are compromised. This type of Police Harassment of our people has gone too far. We stand up for the rights of our people. But because the premier is corrupted and compromised he is unleashing your police officers onto the people in retribution of them fighting for their God Given Constitutional Rights.

You can rest assured that we will not stand and allow you and the Premier to collude in the destruction of this peaceful democracy.

Wow that's so sad to hear that it's messed up so. I mean Turks was being touted as a dynamic economic and social model wasn't it? What do you mean by evil? The people, the system....?
