The prosecution has failed to make out a case against a bishop who is accused of using his position as a counselor to begin a sexual relationship with a teenage girl, his lawyer Wayne Munroe said yesterday.

Bishop Earl Randy Fraser, pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church, St James Road, is on trial for having sex with a dependent. The intimate relationship is alleged to have started on July 2005 and to have continued until February 2006.

His accuser is a 17-year-old girl who was being counseled by him at the suggestion of her grandmother.

Prosecutor Inspector Don Bannister closed his case after calling two forensic scientists and the investigating officer.

six month statute of limitations? wtf...these are children here- if we dont protect them how else will they have recourse within the law? so when the shenanigans of one priest is found out- years later when these boys are grown men and are comfortable enough in their own skin to talk about the injustice and abuse of their bodies by this sex demon- the law cant pounce on the priest? This law needs to be changed, in matters wrt children we must protect them until they are capable of protecting themselves.

the prosecution was a bit wobbily but it sure is more than enough to convict this sick beast beyond a reasonable doubt...

you have a good point, but for some reason i really don't think anything is going to come out of this matter even if he's guilty, that's the problem we have in this bahamas now aperson status and connection.
That's why am considering politics(lol) because you are untouchable once you develope some stripes, like most bahamians is think it's not right but it's OK.
YOU THINK WE WILL EVER LEARN>:)

This headline is so misleading....it makes one think that the judge, actually asked that this case be dismissed.

Now that would make no sense because the judge is the only one with the power to dismiss the case.

if this is the case, if munroe was any decent lawyer he would have moved for the charges to be dismissed before the trial even started!?

I think Munroe is saying the charge is defective. I'm inclined to agree with him. Remember Munroe did not start the case. Fraser was initially represented by Wellington Olander.
After all is said and done, this case will be dismissed.

oh well olander aint a good lawyer then, becuase as a lawyer when a client bring a case to you the first thing you do is look for ground of dismissal.
