Just wanted to ask if everyone is ok.....

Most time we just chat, and no one ever asks if things are "ok"...
Job....kids....family....etc...

Just shout a hollah if things are good, or bad..."but no bad news please"....
:)

Wheely.....you have got to be kidding me. This is GREAT news!
Glad to see you getting hitched...

I took you for an out-island country boy, with no contacts and no experience. But, if you are getting into the diplomatic corp, then you are pretty hot stuff indeed.

How does one get into that anyways....I applied to the MOFA when I finished undergrad, but never got a reply on anything; this was when the PLP was in.

How long ago did you apply?

Just curious!
:)

Thanks for that!

I am an out island country boy to the core, dont be mistaken.. i still walk around the place wit my straw hat and no shoes on... still does be up in the bush for an hour or two everyday.. lol... but there's more to me than just that.. ya gotta be multi-facted in this world

... im waiting to hear back from my people about this... to see how i can extradite the process a lil ;) even if it means I don't get into the consulate in Trinidad, I would take a post with the Bahamian High Commission in NYC in a year's time.

Ok.....so you have not heard a definite yet. Well, you have Sears on your side, so this is what makes it a little better.

But still, keep your own eye open for your own opportunity. Sometimes if it is on politricks, these guys have a way of changing tune last minute, to suit their lyrics.

But, you will be exposed to some top shelf stuff. The NYC scene will give you just the type of look see into the things that are made of world leaders.....don't mind the straw hat now, that can turn into a 10 Gallon hat within 5 years with the right attitude, right spirit and a keen idea on how to develop this country.

Keep up and I am glad to hear things are "ok" on your end.....
:)

p.s.
and when you want, you can still wear a straw hat because you like them, not because you have to wear them.

i'm alive. i'm breathing on my own.....moving on my own....thinking on my own (mostly)....and relatively healthy. so i am definitely okay.

family's good. friends are good. job's good. and, my company's doing very well.

how are you, Alien?

Hi LL,

Good to hear things are "ok"......lookin up. Even though you were kind of scant on what exactly is good.

As for me, thank you for asking as I am "ok"....meaning that it could be better, and we will make that better.

Start a new job Monday, just after the last one ended. In fact, I won't miss a day.....

Not getting any action, een had no money to go on the town after my woman leave me for a chiney man. "dey break up nah"..hehehhehee....
Which makes me a little happier, but still "unlaid"....

October is filled with challenges, as I am looking for an apartment and maintain my self as it is. It's going to be really tight, but, we are prepared to make things happen as it can be worse; I could be jobless and broke.

So, we are "ok".....could be better, but it's "ok"...

well i'm glad to hear that you, at least, have another job lined up. that within itself is a blessing. unemployment is no joke.

and as for your ex.....karma seems to be on a fast track these days. so, i'm glad you have your peace of mind......and hopefully the "piece of...:shhh:" will soon follow. :)

but good luck on the apartment hunt. i remember what that was like. had one of my real first tastes of in-your-face-racism. not pretty, at all.

as for me, my family's healthy (as am i)....and happy (as far as i know). my job's going well....seems to be pretty secure. they love me here. lol. my friends seem to still be loyal and caring. :) and my company's picking up steam....getting about 3 referrals a week now. which means.....*drumroll please*.....i'm on my way to my first million. :)

yup... I know if there is one person I can turn to in the gov. it is Mr. Sears...

oh without a doubt.. Im currently in the process of expanding my design business, whereas I would not have to micro-manage the firm... I realize that there is just farrrrr too much work for one person to do, while still keeping top-notch quality. I already have one person in nassau and Im now looking for a bahamian designer that i can trust in the states... tryna get my company on a multi-national scale.

I also have other plans along the lines of environmental organizations and hydroponic farming (sunny!).. which I intend to follow up on.

thats the way I am looking at it. Honestly... right now I am not advancing anywhere here on Exuma, and with my future wife's upcoming goals (she is going to be pursuing her masters.. and maybe her Phd starting in the next year)

Keep up and I am glad to hear things are "ok" on your end.....

you can take the boy outta the island but you can't take the island outta the boy is what I say. I am proud of who I am and I have shown that pride no matter where I have lived, be it Ottawa, NE Pennsylvania, Florida or Trinidad & NYC to come.

You should re-apply cuz they are definitely in need of ppl. Trust me on that....hint hint.

And Good luck Exrated.... when you get to the Bahamas Mission in NY ..... I'm sure we will meet. Especially since there is no Consulate in Trinidad but there is a Consular representative who maintains no Office. The lady is a Bahamian that teaches at UWI.... if I'm not mistaken.

LL.. I can imagine the whole referral process being a frustrating one. Wish you all the best with it nonetheless.

i'm not sure if you misunderstood what i meant....but, the referral process is actually a pretty good thing for me. meaning, i have at least 3 people coming to me, asking for quotes or whatnot....based on past sites i've done. :)
