Just came back from seeing the body of a young man laid out on the ground at the Farmer's market in Sunshine Park. Heard there were 2 persons that got shot. The other was taken to the hospital. What number are we at now? I lost count.

I think 56. Sad thing is the small disco next to the park still had there music playing (a little lower than usual) like this has become such a common thing. People didn't seem that much disturbed about it.

anyway. the numbness to crime will come amoung the people if they are exposed to it.

this is why i am against the cops in school. it creates a marshal law type mentality in kids that are already so young.

to them in their entire life, crime will be normal. you are either a victim or a criminal.

seeing heavly armed security when they enter a store will be normal

when a curfew is announced it will seem normal and they will not recognise the sign of the time and seek for change

getting robbed is expected

someone getting gun down at junkanoo is nothing to be concerned about.

crime is simply a way of life

It's that little fenced-in area next to Golden Gates Shopping Center heading south on Blue Hill. Just passed there about 30 minutes ago and still saw a crowd. Guess the body still on the ground.

what do you expect when you tell these criminals that hangings will unlikely resume in the country? well for the month of september there were only 2 murders so far compared to the other months. i hope this murder trend continue to drop for the coming months.

Regardless of how one thinks that the murder rate has slowed down, we have had 56 (or 57) murders too many. That's over 112 different family members affected by this senseless act in just this year alone. As Bahamians, we have become out of touch with the value of life and love for our brothers - but that's another thread in itself. What I would say though, is, until we as parents accept full responsibility for the actions of our children, and allow the church to be the church; the Government to be the Government; the schools to be the schools; the police to be the police; and us as parents to be the parents (and not try to be the World); we as a country would be better off. But you have children out there who are now parents themselves, who don't know the first thing about parenting and think they know everything, that contribute to this vicious cycle that is affecting our country to the core. This crime has spun way out of control for far too long and nothing can be done about it if we don't get into the homes of this maggets and change their way of thinking.

Bad seeing a dead person. The last one I saw was some years ago at the end of Village Rd. The police had shot him. He might have "asked for it" but a fellow being anyhow.
