For those who missed Junkanoo in June and/or the Labour Day/Independence Day rushouts 2004--(or who were there and would like to culturally reminisce), there is now extensive graphic and video coverage of Junkanoo in both the Junkanoo in June and Independence Day festivities (Nassau) at the Junkanoo Soulsite (www.ancestraltravels.com). Enjoy and please pass the word along to other Junkanoos and Junkanoo lovers online.

we need year-round junkanoo to keep it alive, even if it is only small groups like at the Cafe Johnny Canoe and at the hotel next door.
Small Junkanoo groups in Jamaica still do local door to door, parties, functions, etc. but they too are dying out.

i think having junkanoo every 5 seconds for every little event wears it out. and it looses its splender. if junkanoo was held conisitantly through the year there would be less have an anticipation for the boxing and new years day parade and person would be less inclined to get outta there beds at 1am, they would say why go when i got watch it in feb, mar, apr, may, jun, jul. aug, sep, oct, nov.

I beg to differ.
