View Full Version : Is Xanadu for sale?
Sunnyjohn 10-01-07, - 11:31 AM Does anyone know it the Xanadu resort in Freeport is for sale?
I know Casa Bahama and the Castaways Resort are on the market.
Just wondering about Xanadu.
Has anybody been in Xanadu recently? What's it's condition?
I haven't heard anything about it in awhile.
Thanks!

Shakita 10-01-07, - 02:08 PM We had my daughter's Sweet 15 birthday Party there back in June. The Ball rooms and main bulding are in good condition. The other amenities however are really bad condition. They havent fixed anything after the damages caused by a hurricane.
Casa Bahama is looking good, all painted up and changed balcony rails and stuff. I thought it had been bought already.

'Kita,
Hmm, they still have Casa Bahama for sale on the HG Christie website.
Maybe they just haven't taken it down yet.
How does the Castaways Hotel look?
Was that a Quinceañera you had for your daughter? Does she go to Freeport High (aka Micheal Eldon)?

I never see people going in or out. An employee of my husband stayed there and she has roaches and the room was smelly. She went to the Port Lucaya Resort and liked it better there.
Yes we had a Quinceanera. I will send you some pics on a PM :)
She goes to Lucaya International School, my 4 year old too. She does have a bunch of friends in Freeport High.

Kewl! I love pics.
Did she have a fancy dress? I went to quite a few Quinceañeras in Dallas and even a couple for a few Latin American families when I was in Brazil.

It wasnt that fancy but it was a nice Dressy party. I took her and her friends to Miami shopping for dresses, they got bargains :)
I sent them already tell me what do you think. In the last one you can see the Hotel Room and the condition, is pretty good.

The ballroom does look like it is in good shape!
It's a pity about the rest of the hotel.
You are a good mom- taking her and her friends to Miami for dress? That must have been a adventure! LOL!
I responded about the pics.

Get it out of the system, into the hands of efficient market makers!
Let the Bahamian people see the free market move!

Lurker 10-01-07, - 11:37 PM Did the hurricanes take that silly pyramid ting off da top of Xanadu?
Word among us kids on da street was dat Howard Hughes put it up there when he was hiding out at the Xanadu, because he believed in some weird pyramidology shiite.

I was just picturing you and a bunch of squealing girls on Discovery, getting to Ft. Lauderdale at 11pm, that's all.
I just wanted to see how much you've immersed yourself in the Bahamian culture. Whether you want to tempt fate on the ferry!

Casual,
Remember when Seas Escape first started? They used to have the BEST food early on. For $100 you could eat 'til ya burst AND bring back all of Sawgrass Mills Mall!
Man, Grand Bahamians thought they had hit the jackpot and told BahamasAir to kiss off.
Good times!

My kids have begged but I am terrified of boats/sea/water experience. It scares me to dead!!! LOL
It was 2 other girls and my daughter plus my two boys, quite the experience anyways, the flight left us and I had 5 crying kids for two hours until we got a flight to FLL. It was quite a trip.
