Yes, I have heard the word. But these guys are not fake. They are Christians. Perhaps they are the kind that need some work done on themselves, perhaps they are unenlightened but you can't call every Christian who disagrees with you a fake.

These guys are "Bible Pounders!" I am sure they pounded the Bible until they found justifications for the Jesus Casino. Just as the Prosperity Gospel folks found justification for their view. (I always wonder how Jesus missed the Prosperity Gospel stuff. After all, he was not rich. He did not even have a place to lay his head, and had to be buried in a borrowed tomb. If being prosperous is a sign of the Christian - Jesus missed the boat there.)

So-called christians who go against the Word of God are fake. I don't want to run into a long debate over gambling so whoever wants to gamble let them go ahead and gamble.

Delroy you don't live by the word of the Creator. Just look at your photo. you cut your hair. and you shave your face.
Leviticus 19
27 Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.

Look at your clothes. You don't wear tassles on your 4 quaters. you wear colthing of mixed fiber.
Leviticus 19
19 Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.

Deuteronomy 22:12
Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.

Thats hypocricy..

That is because it is not possible to live the religious life and be 100% free of hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy Happens! It is what we do once we see our hypocrisy that counts! That is so true, also CG it is impossible to live life without some form of hypocrisy.

CG, you are surprising me! Christ Himself many spoke of many fakes! That is why He condemned the Scribes and Pharasees. THEY were the RELIGIOUS ones who followed the letter of the law and NOT the spirit of the law. They were the great pretenders and the world is full of them!

This seems so easy and simple to see. There are many who just use Christianity as some kind of coverup, ie, they operate under the fuise of christianity to achieve som kind of objective. And many are so skillful about it, it could take years to really see them for what they really are, ie FAKES!

Jesus was NOT poor. He created the universe and owned everything according to the Bible. He became poor so that we may become rich. Being prosperous is not a sign of the christian. Yes, he / she can be prosperous, but that is NOT his focus. The christian focus is saving souls and eternal life!

In His Gospels and in the book of Revelation, Christ spoke about these imposters: ". . . . . Depart from me, I never knew you . . . ." In the seven churches in Revelation, there were ONLY 2 out of the 7 churches who were pleasing Christ. 2 out of 7 works out to be 28.6%. And great Bible scholars regard that as being the percentage of people and churches TODAY who are doing what pleases Christ!!!

When I first read the beginning paragraph of this thread, I felt sure these people (at least the founders of the casino) were fakes 'gone to seed'. Even the secular are calling them "geniuses". It is possible that many of the crowd are gullible and are just being led astray!

They may have been more "law" than "spirit." But that does not make them fakes, just incomplete. But they were still of the Jewish faith. They were not fake, in fact Christ called them: Blind, Greedy. Wicked. Hypocrite, but not "fake" But then we all can call ourselves those things from time to time.

This seems so easy and simple to see. There are many who just use Christianity as some kind of coverup, ie, they operate under the fuise of christianity to achieve som kind of objective. And many are so skillful about it, it could take years to really see them for what they really are, ie FAKES!
When a person is Baptized into Christendom, he becomes a Christian. It might end right there, he may never bother with it again but he is still a Christian. He may become misguided, but he is still a Christian. He may become a Saint but he is still a Christian. He may become a sinner, but he is still a Christian. He can also come to the faith by believing -"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus." He may lose faith, but he is still a Christian. A person can only be a fake Christian if he was never baptized - or never believed. I am not saying that what these guys did is good, it is clever, but not good - they might even be bad! But I can't say they are not Christians because I don't know them.

Christendom has chucked that word, fake, around with great gusto from the day the faith was born, every sect has taken its turn to be called fake, then to turn around and call others fake! Can you see why other religions are confused? We think, you think, a fake is some who does not believe in Christ as you do.

Christendom, perhaps because it has lost its mythological meaning, is searching for something else. That something else is "The Prosperity Gospel" and it is taking over. This is economic Christianity.

Jesus was NOT poor. He created the universe and owned everything according to the Bible. He became poor so that we may become rich. Being prosperous is not a sign of the christian. Yes, he / she can be prosperous, but that is NOT his focus. The christian focus is saving souls and eternal life!
Jesus, in his earthly manifestation was indeed poor, not destitute, by poor - in money only.

You should speak to some Christians. They strongly believe prosperity is a sign. But you are right the "riches" spoken of have nothing to do with money.

But there were seven churches, all of whom worshiped Christ, they were all Christians. Some of them might not have measured up but they would still be Christians, disappointed ones perhaps.

By the way, Revelation is one of those books that admits to being metaphor. With that in view, I think Biblical Scholars would be more interested in what the numbers 2 and 7 and 5 stood for.

As for the 28.6%? I'll bet 100% of Christians think there are it!

When I first read the beginning paragraph of this thread, I felt sure these people (at least the founders of the casino) were fakes 'gone to seed'. Even the secular are calling them "geniuses". It is possible that many of the crowd are gullible and are just being led astray!
Sure people can be lead astray. Particular when they don't know where they are going.

Read this and understand Vicky:
(Please note that the following did not come from the laws of the Old Testament)

1 Timothy 1:8-10
8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, - 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers - 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, - 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Vicky, my Bible notes says that Revelation was written between 70 and 95 A.D. I don't know when it was added. But it was written at a time when the Christians suffered great persecution.

It was written by the apostle John on the isle of Patmos. History records that the Roman authorities tried to kill John by boiling him in oil, but he would not die, so they banished him to the isle of Pathmos where he wrote the Revelation.

I will check my reference on this but I understood differently. Unless the Isle of Pathos is another name for Apocalypses. Please not I might have the wrong spelling and wrong pronunciation on this 1.
But here is a thought 70 95 or 125 years after Christ death. How old was John at Christ’s death. How old would that have made him??? I as many historians doubt that the John that wrote revelation was the same John that knew Christ. Lets say he was 33 like Christ even at the 70 years would have made him 103 years old not imposable but more improbable. I will do a quick check. It was an old encyclopedia I will have to check and see if I still have them.

But have a quick read here might help. With the John issue
