...ignore job numbers in the month of august and september, most of these statistics are seasonal. In august and september, millions of american children went back to school - which means teachers, busdrivers, and a lot of back to school salespeople were hired during those months..

Laing is a sad case just like Mother Pratt!!

Both of them should stay out of politics because it goes against what both of them stand for... I do think though that they would both work well in opposition to any govt but in govt they have to compromise too much!!

They are free to do much more in opposition!!

Makes sense.

Also, we should pay attention to the job numbers, because people were sent home from their jobs in government.

Also, what does this have to do with what Laing has to say at any time....

Also, what does America's case, have to do with the Bahamas and our sales cycle....

Also, the sales people for the summer spending, starts in mid-June and goes to late August; when most schools open.

All valid points but since they (Sunny & Ting-um) had not mentioned it I thought I would inquire about the US job numbers here as they were talking about the US economy elsewhere, If this is bad form I apologize.

Nah man. I don't read all of the replies, and I just reply to the last few ones; I think everyone does this. So, in regards to America, I can be wrong, as I am not aware of all the facts, but I thought we were talking about the Bahamas.

No sweat bro...we all get it twisted at times.

Ignore him. He is just being disgustin' dis morning. LOL!

Talking about the jobs numbers and any slow down in the US economy is important in the Bahamas.

Even "dat Laing boy" mentioned the slow down and the interest rate cut on the radio show yesterday!

Yours was a very good question. Asking was a sign of advanced intelligence.

Children are taught using units. That's why parents buy their little children those blocks with the letters on them. Because they can only process small amounts of information at any given time. Adults, however, can read. Which means you can combine letters, contexts, and words to formulate or interpret ideas. In other words, you have to be able to learn how multiple things connect and interact in order to be an adult or someone of higher intelligence. People of lesser or lower intelligence prefer to isolate ideas, concepts, and what have you.

Back to your comment. If there are more jobs created in the US then the Bahamas has a larger target market for tourism and banking. Very little of the revenue generated by the Bahamas is generated internally. Much of it comes from external sources. If the income of those external sources diminishes - in this case the american populace - then the potential income for the Bahamas diminishes. The cost of marketing to americans remains the same, but the return on those marketing efforts decreases therefore it becomes more expensive for us to bring in foreign dollars through banking and tourism or whatever little goods we produce and export. For example, if you put an ad on the radio it'll cost you 1000 dollars, but if 20 people hear your ad and spend 1000 each at your store then you've made 20 times your invest - so your expense is only 5 percent. But, if ten of those 20 people lose their jobs and now you can only get 10,000 dollars instead of 20,000 dollars - then your costs have increased to 10 percent (1000/10,000).

So yes, the jobs numbers and basically all economics statistics that come from the US has a direct correlation with the potential growth and prosperity of the Bahamas. Thinking otherwise is ignorant - in fact, it is plainly childish.
