Bahamian baggage handler Lester Bain has been acquitted of conspiracy to import cocaine. He was accused of belonging to a drug smuggling ring that operated from the Lynden Pindling Airport.

Bain, 30, was vindicated in a retrial that concluded last week in Miami.

The new hearing was granted after lead prosecutor Alexander Soto conceded that a prior statement that discredited the evidence of Giovanni Munroe, the prosecution's main witness, had not been turned over to defense lawyer Timothy Day.

Bain was part of a group of five baggage handlers arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on drug smuggling charges on December 18, 2006

I hope he gets his job back.

This whole thing bothers me. Punish drug dealers, but why did we throw off our sovereignty in this case.? If those fellas put drugs in a suitcase in Nassau Airport, then they should have be arrested, tried and convicted in a Bahamian court for the crime.

No wonder the crooks 'ein gat no fear.

I guess she can sue both the Bahamas and American government for unlawful extradition and imprisonment.......

If he does sue it SHOULD come out in court who's idea all this was and who was behind what....( *all chanting) SUE, SUE, SUE, SUE, SUE, SUE

Either way it will make sure either

A. Mitchell and Allyson never get back in the house if they did know and approve the action and been lying bout it all this time

or

B. The members of the Police Force who allowed this to happen without the governments knowledge and approval (yeah rite) are held accountable and dismissed. (again yea rite)

Thing is the poor man wasn't extradited. He was lured to the U.S. with the complicity of the Bahamian government.
It's disturbing how U.S. prosecutors changed their theory to suit their purposes in the retrial.

Thing is, he was working around a bunch of dope smugglers every day, and never saw anything or knew what was going on? Another thing, had the trial happened here for him, he would have been in Fox Hell all this time, probably come out of there with AIDs and lawd knows what else, and thats even if there was a trial since it could have taken the usual years until the trial took place here. So basically, if anything, he is lucky he wasnt tried in the Bahamas.

That said, if he is innocent, sue sue sue. :hammer:
And watch his surroundings and those around him closer next time.
