The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a warning to The Bahamas and the region, advising them weigh the pros and cons of offering tax exemptions to foreign investors — an overused tool to lure those international moneymen.

Countries like The Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad should consider reducing tax exemptions, while making those that remain cost-effective. That would encourage them to boost other "determinants of investment", said an IMF report released last Friday.

when you dont, or cant see, the value in what you have you will give away the farm! I trly believe the IMF was specifically speaking to us and noone else...they just added the other caribbean ldc's in the mix as to not make it appear so evident. i hope we listening and heeding to the IMF's advice now as opposed to later...
