View Full Version : IMF says, "BAHAMAS GIVES AWAY TOO MUCH!"
Sunnyjohn 10-09-07, - 10:26 AM The International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a warning to The Bahamas and the region, advising them weigh the pros and cons of offering tax exemptions to foreign investors — an overused tool to lure those international moneymen.
Countries like The Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad should consider reducing tax exemptions, while making those that remain cost-effective. That would encourage them to boost other "determinants of investment", said an IMF report released last Friday.

Yeah, well, they'll listen to you when you got some letters next to your name. Unless you are part of ABC group or a member of the BMSUPSDKFEIFHDU, no one listens!
It's all wrong, starting at the name. No one should conceed anything. We should provide incentives for investment, not concessions or subsidies.
