John Gibson of FOX News: Whites commit suicide, blacks ’shoot and move on.’

A student in Cleveland yesterday shot four people at a high school before killing himself. On his radio show that day, Fox News’s John Gibson claimed that he “could tell right away” that the shooter was white:

He killed himself. Hip-hoppers do not kill themselves. They walk away. Now, I didn’t need to hear the kid was white with blond hair. Once he’d shot himself in the head, no hip-hopper. […]

And I could tell right away ’cause he killed himself. Black shooters don’t do that; they shoot and move on."

Later in the October 11 show, during a discussion with a caller, Gibson twice rephrased his October 10 statements.

He first asserted that "when I say I knew this shooter yesterday wasn't black when he committed suicide because that's not what African-American gangster shooters do.

They don't shoot somebody and then say, 'Oh, I'm so unhappy. This is such a scar on my soul, I've got to shoot myself in the head.' " Gibson later said, " 'Course the guy in Cleveland was a white kid; he committed suicide.

Gangster shooters don't do that. They're happy they got off the first shot. They're happy they killed the guy they were aiming at. They get in their car, and they move on down the road. Probably looking over their shoulders a little bit."

Anyway, it was some radio show, not Fox News. But he mussee dont know white kids are all into hip hop now also .. :D Anyway i just listened to the audio clip and other than him sounding like a regular azz dont see anything racist in there, in fact he was talking bad about white peeps if anything.

Sounds just about right. Black people don't hate themselves like white people. Of course if it was up to me and Gibson in the same room, personally, it would be him and then would have a drink with O'Reilly because O'Reilly ain't as stupid as Gibson.

Suicide is nothing to trivialize. He should be ashamed that he is making this tragix scene appear to be something about race. Goes to show you that it matters to HIM...doesn't it?

But, the rates have allways been consistent with the idea that Asian and White kids, are more likely to committ suicide. Asian kids with weapons, and White kids with drugs and substance abuse.

So, yes. Black people do love them selves a bit more, and, most blacks "by their design" are more religious and would NOT kill themselves; because of only that.

Gibson was so right. In his racist way!

We have to bear in mind that Gibson's job is to give his audience what they want, ie, entertain them and to re-enforce their views. I do not think Gibson believes the stuff he says, but he has to play the cards that he is dealt in order to pay his bills, and become more famous. Same with O'Reilly, and Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.It is just a game, as evidenced by Rush doing crack, even though only painkillers were ever mentioned in the reports. Pain killers, yea right..

One cannot deny the occurrence of suicide is statistically more prevalent among whites than blacks. His comments were hardly racist, just hard to hear and come to grips with. It is a fact, and was a very rational guess on his part that the school shooter that later committed suicide was not black. Does anybody remember that black dude in Florida several weeks ago that opened fire on some police officers killing one, and then fleeing. It was a massive manhunt, and when they found him he still resisted with the use of a semi-automatic I believe. Fortunately they shot him, and he is off the streets permanently. He wasn't going down without a fight, and he most certainly wasn't ending his own life. A very typical scenario when the perpetrator of such a crime is black.

There was no point other than entertainment, and setting off debates like this one...lol. Yes, it definitely was unnecessary given the serious nature of the situation, but FOX news is nothing more than Hollywood posing as reporters. That kind of commentary sells, and increases ratings.

suicide/murder shootings by mentally distressed students at schools is another thing. They dont relate.

You are right, a "drive by" and a guy flipping out are two different things. Both are an outrage, at least they share that in common.
