Lurker 10-17-07, - 07:03 AM Yawn ... another psalm-singing donkey who doesn't get the higher moral precept of separation of church and state.
pharoah 10-17-07, - 07:07 AM It seem very convenient that the ''man of God'' has found his voice. Anyone else notice that? Can someone say, ''Politickin''. :shhh:
Seagod 10-17-07, - 09:23 AM When I saw the article I thought the Rev was annoucing some provisions made by his organisation to supplement the government's social security system that would help families in need who have lost their income, considering the church collects so much money from this community. Even if the church has outreach programs already in place surely the Rev recognizes that provisions at this particular time needs to be stepped up and a pledge say of a million dollars in subsidies should be sufficient for temporary relief for these poor people he's speaking of.

It could be asked "Who is the president of the National Baptist Convention Rev. Dr. William Thompson" and is this a newly formed organization?
Interesting there were no announced strategies by this organization to confront the mentioned social concerns.
Simply put it appears just a sounding brass, or a tinklig cymbal.
