Firstly you should note that with a merger things are always a little unsettled, also Commonwealth Bank is not governed by the same rules as the other commercial banks and can offer some goods and services that the others cant.
I am not trying to defend any form of bad service but I know from my experiences with the mentioned institution that plans are in motion to resolve many of the complaints and issues that you guys have had.

Hi ebo,
I understand your concern....It is all the same for companies suffering from Post merger blues..The standard pattern is decline in service quality since different organisations understand each other's processes to realign,refocus...and start goin'..
regarding the security issues..or rather the very dumb factor of the transaction cap....aptly explained by you... FCB has hired the best of the system integrators to architect an end to end internet banking solution integrating their existing disparate backends..to a next generation webenabled internet banking product....
Do keep posting....and more strong words ...required for the push..from analysing customers like you for the refocussing..and overhaul in the customer services processes..
Enjoy..
salutations

Another thing to consider re First Caribbean Bank is the bank they merged with -- Barclays, which somehow never impressed me as a bank who cared much about customers. I could be wrong in this regard 'cause it was a long time ago when I banked with them).

But one thing for sure, First Caribbean's service was much better before the merger.

And if they are taking decision-making power from the managers, I think that is very dumb. One thing I liked with the company where I spent the last 25 years of my work life is how they handled decision making. Most employees were allowed to make decisions in their departments. You were required to THINK the situation through very carefully, decide the BEST course of action to take, then ACT! If it was a major decision, you would touch base with your immediate manager first

And if you have made good decisions over a period of time, you would be in a posithon for a salary increase and or a promotion.
