I am in a business that allows me to travel to many of the states in the US on a monthly basis, am not interested in shopping in the United States at all. I am looking for an alternative. I am ready to stage a protest to " Boycott the US".
I think the United States truly believe that if their country were to cut us off by stopping pre-clearance, posting advisories that are untrue, or by threatening us to obey by their rules we would not be able to support ourselves.
I think as Bahamians, we have a special gift within ourselves to rise up no matter what negatives we encounter!

Are you comfortable shopping online? That is a cheaper way.

Almost all the goods that sells in America ,is not made in America. Just cut the middle man out.

Depends on what you're shopping for. However, there's NO place in the WORLD like Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linen N Things, Pier 1, Ann Taylor, Macy's, Payless, Barnes and Noble, Brandsmart, Children's Place...you get my drift. I say find other ways to boycott or protest against them...doing the traditional Bahamian one day-20 bags excursion hurts the hotels, car rentals and restaurants. But I'n ga lie...da US rocks when it comes to shopping. Did I mention Target...? Yup. NO ONE beats a TARGET! Oh and Radio Shack, Walmart...I running out...

I think they are forgetting where we are, geographically .. now if yah can move the whole Bahamas then we might be able to try out somewhere else .. :D

Still noone beats the prices of the US (besides Asia) .. and "beggars cant be choosers".
If yah rich then you can shop anywhere in the world though :D

The US distributors buy tons of products to be able to offer the lower prices that they do. We cant do the same here as we are a small country.

Id just like to know about these "untrue advisories" that they mentioned and also who is threatening them. :)

depends on what you're buying, but there is excellent shopping to be had in santo domingo, havana and port-au-prince, for starters (artwork, clothing, spirits, cigars, jewelry, books).

What stories? I have read some of the latest advisories and they are just facts. Also Bush has nothing to do with the advisories.
