“It distorts the facts even more.” Must be what has you confused.
It’s the distortion of the facts because we are guessing as to what the writers were saying. We can only guess to understand the writer’s intent and when translators don't understand the intent they add words. 100 years from now they find one of these Bibles where it says hurricane and they will think we knew hurricanes formed in the Middle East. But hurricanes never formed in the Middle East. When translators don't know the meaning of a word they guess. When interpretations are made from words that can mean many things and only the writer understands the context. You end up with misinterpretations.
something like what you are doing now!

Uh sorry who is Hadies and what is the underworld.

Tartarus
in Greek mythology, lowest region of the underworld. The wicked (e.g., Sisyphus, Tantalus, and Ixion) were sent to Tartarus as punishment for their sins.
The Greeks might not have had a word for the Hebrew hell but they did have a word for hell as they understood what hell was.
Same goes for homosexual which was a normal and accepted part of roman society.

And I am sure you know what Job's friends are called. "Job's Comforters." A back handed way of saying that they were of no comfort at all. To many preachers here are Job's Comforters. Their job now it to be real comforters.
There are many, many people in these islands who have been traumatized by the storm. Some will be nervous wrecks every time the wind blows! Some may never recover! It is cruel to suggest that it was because of their sin that God sent the storm. There is only one word for that - Balderdash!
I am sure you will agree, Lincoln?
AMEN!

Me you and everyone else. But in your interpretations you treat others that you see as different as less human. I treat everyone as human.
However I will not live my life as less human just because you think I should. But I will stand up for my rights. My right to live as a woman and be married and in love with my wife. Even though I am born male as you see it.

What was the Roman word for homosexual?? Yes you are so right and Christ healed a Romans beloved servant boy. You know what servant boys were used for don't you??
How ever there is no word that reference homosexual in the Bible.
There was a word that represented the temple male prostitute and the female temple prostitute.
But Christ said nothing of a same sex consenting relationship.

Vicky, I think you are confusing me with someone else. I do not judge. Neither did I judge you. I treat others the way I want to be treated. I treat accused sinners the way Jesus treated the accused adulterer woman.

I in no way feel less that anyone.
Everyone is entitled to their faith and I will stand with you to have YOUR faith. But when it comes to imposing the policies of your faith on others as law then I have an issue.

the christian faith has come far in accepting different world veiws, and oppinions on the faith..far more than any other...christianity is one of the most liberal of all....and for being that you call us hypocrites!
in christianity, and christian countries, you have a choice to be and do what you want...and have a sound voice!
can not be said about slot of other countires!
any nation that doesnt accept the right to freedom of religion, is not a nation in which i would put many hopes up for!
no one is imposing anything on you vicky..
the choice is yours...IT WAS ALWAYS YOURS!!
the bible tells us that!
if you would see it a little clearer, you would know...YES KNOW...you are free and deserve the right to be...its just the consequences of your freedom is what you and you alone have to fend for!

the one thing that cracks me up is that the BAHAMAS as a country claims to be a Christian nation!!
Forgive me (to those true christians), but I have not seen very much christianity in Nassau in the past few years, it has been quite the contrary. Sorry but a bunch (well a heck of alot) of buildings with crosses on them does not make a country a christian country. Quoting 'Bible this' and 'bible that' will not do any good because living in Nassau I have seen first hand what the facts are. I mean no disrespect to anyone at all, but truthfully I have not seen anything that can tell me this is a christian country, besides the obvious claims. Lots of Churches do not mean anything, they are just buildings that anyone can put up. Talk is cheap.
There are obviously true christians here, and some I know personally, but that is not what I am talking about.
I would say any country that imposes religion on a person is then a problem, as religion is just a faith, and there is no proof to any faith, so noone should be persecuted for non belief of any religion.
