never assume...talk to me like i know who they are because I do.
vivian use to sing background for jill scott before getting her record deal. she fell off on the second cd heather headley was miss universe too (and invrably miss trinidad) she hs this cabaret/showy voice very strong- that song in my mind is harrowing...and my friend saw her on broadway when she was in aida. betty wright discovered joss stone- god bless her---she's very soulful but I hope her letting raphael saadiq control her mind (and thus her career) these old dudes running up in you are so controlling- she has three cd's to date (I ddnt ever bother to download the third one) if you like her youll love another soulful white girl amy winehouse.

Taf:

Sorry , I am a music buff didn't know there were many of us!

Joss Stone's 3rd album is good. She was at Atlantis in September - had tks but couldn't make it as I was in Europe working. Amy Winehouse was also here!

When I travel I work it around concerts and jazz fests. I go to ATL often and they have great events. They have a fest during the summer at Chastain Park most of the concerts are free - it often runs for the month. I am planning right now to go to Cayman for their Jazz Fest at the beginning of Dec.

Lady Marmalade original by Patti Labelle remade by Christina Aguillera
Uptown girl original by Billy Joel remade by Westlife
Respect original by Otis Redding remade by Aretha Franklin
Proud Mary original by Creedence Clearwater Revival remade by Ike and Tina Turner

I think Missy Elliot was also a part of the Lady Marmalade remake w/ Christina for the Moulin Rouge movie. Christina Aguillera is another versatile artist.

Saw Patty labelle in concert, she is an amazing performer especially for her age. She wore some heels out of this world for most of the performance - they were at least 4 inches.

Yup she changed her shoes on stage!

And yes the gay (black) men were there in huge numbers!

Fortunately for me my bro lives in ATL - in Buckhead- which is not far from Chastain Park so I don't incurr the hotel expenses and I always have a car!

Heard Bermuda is good too. John Legend performed at the last one I think!
The next one I am going to will be Montreal in July of next year. I would like to see John Legend. I missed him by days in 2005 in ATL and the concert was sold out so it was no point changing my tk to stay!

Latifah (excuse me Dana Owens) is good too. I like her first jazz album better than the second. Think alot of the songs on the first album are remakes - not sure though. I would like to see her in concert.

I think her tickets are $75---she is not anita baker for christ sake!
I see her in a different light these days--its kind hard for me to picture her rapping "lady's first" or saying who you calling a b1tch
