Well one of my nephews brought shame and embarrasment on himself and our family Sunday past,as the Police broke down his door, found his dope and hauled him off to jail. After all his Uncles,Aunties and Grand Parents preached and threatened him,it finally happened. Speaking for myself.....I am glad,it is the only hope for him...being handcuffed and thrown in a cell,to maybe wake up to the fact he is a menace to society and himself and either needs to change or be a lifelong criminal! I vehemently argued with my Sister not to bail him out and let him suffer a bit,but you know...often Mothers empower their wayward Sons without realising it.:realmad:

no need for you to be embarrassed- you did nothing wrong--you guys warned him---place the onus on him (where it belongs)

...seeing that she's enabling him encourage her to get a good insurance policy or some diapers...its only but two thing that happen to dope peddlers the die or go to jail where they get they tail tear up in the can...scare her with that- one like me woulda leave him right there...pray for um both. god bless you amen.

Thank Goodness,
The mother or aunt was around cause they would have hauled them off to jail too.....boy I could only imagine the pain that would have caused them.

I wouldnt wish a night in jail to anyone, especially my kid. I would have bailed my kid out to, especially for having some marijuana. Violent crimes, a totally different story.

this is where it starts. boy people seriously needs parenting lessons. when ur kids see you come running to their rescue everytime. it does nothing to help them and also they will keep doin sh!t because they know mumm and daddy coming to the rescue.

if ur kid ggets arrested for SUM WEED and u fly to the rescue immidetly it send a poor message. trust it almost always goes from weed, to exstacy, to meth, to crack etc etc etc.

leave his stinking tale in jail for AT LEAST THE NIGHT. if it was me it would have been two days minimum.

i have a friend whose parents let him stay in jail for 6 months because he kept doing sh!t (drugs situations).

you have to let your kids suffer a while to teach them a lesson. there is going to be a time in their life when you wont be around to rescue them

at least a couple nights in central ..

how old was he though? I realize parents call them kids even when they are adults, so just wondering. And was he dealing or using drugs? If it is dealing, with that also comes violent crime, so he may already be in too deep to change.

Sorry to hear this either way.

He is 22 Rory and not just using,he been selling fa a longtime, not just to locals ,but to tourists as well.He handled the weed, his buddy handled the coke, the buddy did not get arrested? The thing is...this kid has a good heart, but so many times I told him, "ma boy...you too comfortable wit this thing ya'll doing, you know it is illegal and one day special ops will send someone to this cay you don't know and u will bee kool wit him and he will take you off to jail.":hammer:

...clearing that up and being a bit partial to weed (as I indulge every now and then) he may need to stop selling and disassociate himself from the "friend" who turned him...

I agree come on marijuana? Please (suck teeth)... It is a depressant.. In actuality it is much easier to deal with a person who smokes weed than it is to deal with a person who drinks... Marijuana makes u sleepy, hungry and h----y... alcohol makes u violent and mean!!! Not to mention the other drugs out there whose dependency cause u everything (like crack and nose candy)!!! :cutie:

Smoking a joint here in there really shouldn't be something we put people in jail for. If we have it as illegal then just fine and make them do community service with no record as this can be cause someone to become a lifelong criminal.

We need to stop creating criminals in this country and find other means of dealing with petty crime.

Now drug dealing is another story and I do have a problem with that one.

Sorry to hear that your nephew had to wait until the police came before he listened to the advice given to him. Hope it's the wakeup call you were all praying for.

a pastor once told me that they need to stop locking up the black bahamian who deals or traffics drugs so most of us can get ahead in life like the white man did with rum-running.
I almost hit the floor when he said that to me but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. he may be onto something.
