Well....not quite.
I had to share this experience with you people, about my previous "work experience" here in jolly ol'e Engerland.
Was working with a Financial PR firm, on a two week programme that ended up being extended for two more weeks after they saw how good I was....or so I thought.
In any event, there was a young lady who was on her last week with the firm, and she was sitting right opposite me. So, after she left, the human resources asked if I could stay on for another two weeks; I thought they were testing me out.
Well, the job was pure torture..easy to do...but the people sucked dog ballz literally. Let's put it like this, I never knew people had the capacity to talk about you, behind your back right in front of your face. I mean, it was that bad and during the last week of my "experience", the HR manager who interviewed me asked me if whether or not the folks I was working with was "mean to me"...LOL....I guess they are notorius for being just that.
I was really going through a rough patch as well...I was forced to move out of dorms, wanted to stay in the UK and work for a while, and wanted to find a place to live with no money; don't know how they overheard my phone conversations, but, they sure as hell knew what my position was. And it was not as if the money was worth it anyways....don't even get me started on credit card debt as my last month doing my dissertation, was absoultely dreadful. I was literally on a shoe string and had no money comming in....just so happened that that work experience, kicked in when I needed the money. Luck?
Well, just throughout the half way mark of my work experience, and when the lady who was my direct supervisor, who is the HR manager, was on a two week vacation, the position that was left open by the young lady who was working their opposite me "she said the company was a sucky company anyways, but I did not believe her thinking that it was sour grapes", they, the Director, openly brought in a stranger, foreign girl from Australia, to fill the position and something which I was equally qualified for; and the fact that they knew me, longer than they did her. It was like...well..ok...they did not promise me full time employment anyways, so it was ok; even though I had to endure torture, from pricks a year or two younger than me and from dead-beats, who were at the end of their line career wise.
But, the kicker was that I FELT that it was just to stick it to me. Not quite sure what I did to them, but, who cares now huh?
Anyways, it just so happened that the young girls birthday, was two days after the day she started work. They normally gather around the kitchen table, to sing happy birth-day. But, not this time, as they all gathered around her desk, which was right opposite mine, to sing happy birthday...all led by one of the office hound dog's, while the rest of her gaggle snickered and jeered while I had to sing happy birthday like a ghad dang jack-azz.
:realmad:
The office hound-dog was a co-director, who was extreemly cruel and disgusting. I kept my cool, but, she deserved a good cussin...which was not very far if the mouth murders and cowrds, gave me something to openly cuss em for.
But, the good part about it was that I found a job the next week after that work experience. I mean, I took a half day off just to go to the interview, and they hired me right on the spot. Just when my ticket to come home was due.....again...as I extended it by a month, after I had found out I had work to do in London.
Can't keep a good man down...aye...lol....well. Happy Birthday!
