Mel, the only thing I can tell you, is that it will pass. (been there, done that!) Look on the bright side, you can throw all the contraceptives away and have unprotected sex whenever you want :)

If you don't want to go to a doctor and get prescription meds, because once you start on hormone replacement therapy you have to continue it for the rest of your life. You can get herbal medication that does work (estroven is one)

Make sure you are getting plenty of calcium as well, drink plenty of milk and eat a lot of cheese as this will help to keep your bones strong. Once you go through menopause, your bones start to lose calcium and get weaker and break easily, they also take longer to heal. (I was off work earlier this year with a broken bone in my foot for 12 weeks)

Hang in there girl!

I to now face menopause if I stop hrt and there is a strog possibility for all trans as oral estrogen is very hard on the liver and kidneys. You can get herbal medication that does work (estroven is one)I am on estrofem 17 beta estrodiol 4 mgs a day. Want to change to estrogel or patches but it is so expensive only other choice is progynon depot. That is a 2 ml 1.5 in 20ga. needle deep muscle injestion every 2 weeks. there are only 4 places to inject that deep with that volume. Ann when you come to Nassau would you teach me how to do it?? The last resort for me to reduce doasge is to have a orchiectomy. :cutie: Then no more anti androgens either

Thanks Vicki i am truly suffering.

Do you have a Dr that you can see as I have no clue as to dosage for a born female.
Avoid premarin as it is made from pregnat mare urine and they way the treat the poor hourses to get is just not right. Also it is Conjugated Equine Oestrogen and can not be checked via blood test. You want beta 17 estrodiol as it comes from soy and yams and it can be checked via blood test and it is the same estrogen your body makes.

Well, if you are going to post poems, I wrote this one on Menopause some years ago....a distant memory now!
menopause
when you're feeling cool and charming
it really is disarming
when you start to get a menopausal flush.
it starts with nervous tension
for which there's no prevention
then the sweating just descends in such a rush.
your moods are all distorted
and happiness is thwarted
and you wonder if this curse will ever end
now, we can start taking hormones
to stop our grumbles and our groans
and this treatment would appear to be the trend.
but i'd like to try and manage
without causing too much damage
to those i love and work with every day
but whenever i seem flustered
and my words are hot as mustard
it's just another flush that's on the way.

I went through something like menopause when I started HRT it was not fun. The emotions were through the roof and then in a hole. Weight gain and a bunch of other stuff. It was starnge and joyful at the same time as my body adapted. Now I break out with some sort of acne on my face next to my eyes left side much worse than my right about once a month and its gone in about a week. Guess its my bodies version of PMS.
