On Sunday we ( Kemp Road Urban Renewal )are having a thanks giving dinner for senior citizens at Church of God of Prophecy Shirley Street and I need some donations of groceries to put in bags for the elderly. You know they only get 200.00 per month and its not enough.
We are not giving out the bags on sunday but if members could drop some stuff at the church to put in the bags I would appreciate it.

In Canada, donations to food banks is assisted by local grocery stores. And the donations are distributed throughout much of the needy, especially those who 'raise their hand' admitting they need a bit of help.

Is there anything similar in the Bahamas?

Just found out their P.O. number; P.O. box N3041; I don't know if I can get a donation down there in time because of where I live; But are they going to do the same thing during christmas ???

Not yet. Most people feel that Departmen of Social SErvice does enough...but what is 40.00 a month to a small family and the most is 100.00 to a large family.

There is a need but I guess no one wants the headache.
