View Full Version : Bahamas Writer the Book
Bahamas Writer 10-02-04, - 10:48 PM Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on Bahamas Writer the Book for some time. Once published, it will be the handy writer’s guide to have on your book shelf. It will also feature an unusual Bahamian theme.
However, Bahamas Writer the Book is not only for those who dabble their toes in the transparent blue waters of the Caribbean! It reflects the essence of BahamasWriter.com, described by Canadian BW member Joanne Montague as the “international site where Bahamian and non-Bahamian writers meet”.
Bahamas Writer the Book is a source of inspiration that will be handed down from generation to generation.
There’s a link on my home page at http://www.bahamaswriter.com, where you can request to be notified when Bahamas Writer the Book is in print.
And don't forget to check out the Bahamas Writer Forums, where members have been invited to post their requests and comments about Bahamas Writer the Book, for the benefit of writers new and not so new around the world.
Best wishes,
Fay Knowles
islandgyal 10-03-04, - 06:33 PM with all due respect ** and please let me know whether i am out of line here ** why is every other post of yours a self-promotion? there are many interesting, intelligent creative individuals in this forum, but none so personally engrossed as yourself.
there are many other writers, thinkers, artists, hoteliers, storytellers, filmmakers here that i interact with a lot offlist, but this forum is about the discussion of the common bahamian experience and perspective ... yet i feel as though you treat this forum and other online forums i have you seen you participate in as your own personal blog.
no offense, just an observation

Sorry you feel this way, islandgyal. I guess you haven't read all of my posts in Bahamas Issues (168 to date)!

Bahamas Writer 10-03-04, - 10:32 PM Great work Fay. :D
Will you have the book available online?
Thanks Delroy.
The basic format is already on line at http://www.bahamaswriter.com, with fourteen sections on writing. The book (in print form) will be more comprehensive - a writer's guide with a Bahamian theme, drawn from my experiences in the Bahamas since my arrival here in 1965 and from tales my husband has shared with me about his upbringing in Long Island, Bahamas.

Please do consider doing this. It would be invaluable for future generations.

canewry 10-18-04, - 08:04 PM Well email me when your book is finished.
I have already published two books: AS I COMMENCE TO DREAM and FATTENING UP FROG FOR SNAKE...I would be very much interested on your view points on being published!

The titles of your books are very catchy. I'll look out for them in local book stores.

Excalibur 10-28-04, - 10:30 PM Dear Bahamas Writer,
Is it possible for you to start a book of the month club on Bahamas Issues?

Hey Bahres!
That's a great idea! Only problem is that unfortunately I just don't have the time. Perhaps one of the other members would like to do this though? I think it would be really interesting and helpful.
Best wishes,
Fay
