Quincy Omar Johnson, 25, of Turks Court, Flamingo Gardens appeared before Magistrate Linda Virgill Tuesday on charges that included burglary, rape, possession of a firearm while committing a specified offence, armed robbery, and assault with the intent to commit rape.

One charge alleged that on Oct. 4, between 1 a.m. and 4.30 a.m., armed with a machine gun, Johnson broke into a female's home and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The fourth charge alleged that he robbed the female of a flip phone valued at $400.

Another charge made was that on Oct. 8, around 8.15 p.m. the accused assaulted a female with the intent of raping her. Police said on Sept. 29 he assaulted another female with the intent to rape her. Those cases are set to be heard on Nov. 4.

Johnson is also accused of breaking into the home of another female on Sept. 30 at about 5 a.m.

He allegedly had sexual intercourse with a female without her consent and stole $200 from her. A preliminary inquiry is set for Dec. 3.

Inspector Ercell Dorsette prosecuted.

Church car theft

Graig Harrison Rigby, 44, appeared in the same court and pleaded guilty to stealing and receiving a vehicle that was the property of Victory Baptist Church.

The court learned that between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 the accused stole and received a white 1998 car valued at $7,000.

Magistrate Virgill sentenced Rigby to serve four years in Her Majesty's Prison, Fox Hill. Additionally he was asked to pay a fine of $4,000 or in default of payment, serve another year in jail.

Wow, 4 years for stealin a church car.

SO, when i was attacked with axes by 2 men (attempted murder) and had my $30K vehicle stolen, they got a max of 17 months . .. something is terribly wrong with this picture, and no its not the $30K vehicle but yes the bank owns that still ...! How could they get 4 years just for stealing a car (probably a cheap JAP POS) and yet the people that tried to kill me, and stole my vehicle only got 17 months. So it kinda looks that there is preference if you are a rellesious person in the Bahamas.....HPC's..
