They can vote for *AND* against someone??
...anyway, if you noticed how many votes Huckabee got, close to 30,000, compared to Obama, close to 800 - that should tell you either america wants a more conservative president (which Obama isn't) or that the Iowa caucuses are a joke..

All the Pundits were saying last night that the Republican side had a straw poll, but that the process on the Democratic side was not very straightforward and that you never know the number of votes that the candidate got, only a percentage and that the percentage is not what we understand percentage to mean or something fuzzy like that. How is it that you know how many votes Obama received, unless you are CIA, like Rory or Spetsnaz, like me? If it were a proportional percentage the way we learned in grade five, .37 of 240000 is not quite 800, but pretty close..

The Republican strategy is working, as predicted. Man you have to admire their discipline! Get Obama nominated, and the General election is theirs, or so they think. Their scheming may be their undoing....

The establishment hated the Kennedys like poison too because they wanted peace and love and Kumbaya when there was money to be made in war and weapons and subterfuge. America needs enemies, so Obama better think of some fast if he wants to be accepted by the Military Industrial Complex and stand a chance or turning their plans for the Democrats on its ear.

don't know about the kennedys being all about peace and love and kumbaya ... JFK got the usa into vietnam while his pal was the ambassador over there, and the bay of pigs fiasco kinda hit close to home right here.

no politician, american or otherwise, seems to truly be able to get away from the necessary dirt, either. i read that obama right now is taking in more in donations from the health insurance than the other dem and repub candidates combined, so this should be interesting in the weeks to come. but he IS inspiring.

Micheal Pintard (hoped i spelled it right)

I started this post because i wanted to see BI members thoughts on who is the Bahamas' OBAMA, and the best you came up with is Michael Pintard?
If Mr Pintard is him, then we dont have one...

Lastly that victory speech Obama gave last night was awesome...Give it to the guy he knows how to deliver a speech and he isnt making the mistake that other former black presidential candidates did in the past and that is the guy isnt even talking about race. He isnt stating the obvious...Like someone posted, his campaign advisor's are on target...

If he wins or comes 2nd in New Hampshire and wins South Carolina, its over for Hillary. We are watching history people...So again I ask, who is the Bahama's OBAMA?

Is there one? I don’t think so at least not in active politics. He/she maybe “around” but who would really want to enter politics here? We treat our politicians so badly. Besides, we hate change! (Must be! We never do.) :)

I used to think Gilbert Morris, but he like to name drop too much, and also loves his own voice. He has good ideas, but a lot of us know where, but it is a question of how. The details always trip folk up. maybe the Superwash guy whose name is very hard to spell, so I will not try, lest Nikki kelly call our name again...

What is not to like about Obama? He is educated, eloquent, likeable and a good communicator. Anyone that takes the time to listen to Hillary can hear that she is a two face and a hater.
That woman has said, will say and do wateva it takes to win at any and all expense to her dignity.:)

D'Aguilar?

I doubt he will jump in.

Active politics can take its toll on the body and spirit.

I doubt he (Dionisio) has any political aspirations, but isnt interesting that we seem to be referencing ppl as potential political leaders who obviously have French (read= creole) heritage. First the symonette's now the D'agulars and lets not forget the dupuch's.

Before yall get all indignant, I have no problem with any of it, just think it is interesting.

I will take your word as to the spelling; we need people like him, business people , smart, international. But no one is perfect as another member pointed out because Dionisio made an offensive remark regarding public v. private schools. Vince Ferguson said it best that our problem continues to be that if you are not book smart you are banished to vocational studies, the result of which is shoddy houses, and everything else that requires craftsmanship. We need to make vocational studies both rigorous and academic, to appeal to very smart people who would otherwise go into another field. I told you'll before that there are builders out there that do not understand building theory, and cannot do calculations, yet they making more money than the academically trained folk. Stupid! Our system is jacked up. We will continue to have to import skilled craftsmen until the end of time, and suffer from overpriced and bad construction if our policy makers continue to be fools.
