View Full Version : Light Manufacturing in bahamas
Jack Burns 10-28-04, - 11:57 AM As an inventor I have several small products that I wish to have manufactured. Can anyone provide information as to the feasability of light manufacturing (stainless steel products) in the Bahamas. ie import duties taxes etc. Thank you
canesfins 10-28-04, - 03:52 PM There are breaks on duties and government incentives to encourage manufacturing in the Bahamas. If you need further information feel free to email me.
Brer Bookie 05-10-06, - 01:52 PM It is amazing that there is little information regarding the patenting and/or copywriting of any product that a Bahamian inventor as such may want to bring to market. I too am interested in bringing a product to market utilising plastic and steel products.

I too have interest in manufacturing opportunites here. Even though high labor cost is a factor...the Carribbean Basin initiative allows us to ship duty free to the states as Im sure that most of where my customers will be...

vicky i think I misspoke. fyi (http://www.jonesbahamas.com/?c=47&a=8721) but given our behaviour to date...I dont see how the US will extend anything to us anymore (as for the "snake" action and "secretive" UN votes...)
if anyone has insight (i.trade experience) into this could you please share with the board.

Ping, who I knew personally could hang on the blocks or dine with queens and kings. With the corruption whatever he did wrong or right, he still looked out for our Bahama land and did not sell his soul or our land to investors. Yes the islands need investors to come in and build, but there is a fine line of what is promised by these investors and what actully hapens. Can most bahamians go to Paradise Island and rise their head to the rising sun? da guard will ask dem where dey goin, oh yea the one access to the beach, no parkin.
Anyway what I think I am wanting to say is, there is always corruption in every government. I see it every day, you don,t get anything done without throwin out a 20 here or there.
