Man's body found with multiple gunshot wounds

The police are appealing to residents of the Cowpen Road and Bacardi Road area to assist in identifying the body of a man found riddled with gunshots and lying in a pool of blood off Bacardi Road.
The unidentified man is the country's 30th homicide victim for the year.
According to Head of the Central Detective Unit, Chief Superintendent Marvin Dames, around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, the police received reports that a body had been found.
The victim was clad in black trousers, a white-gray and black shirt and white tennis shoes.
"He was found lying on his back in a pool of blood. Preliminary examination of the body revealed that he appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back area and a wound to the area of his throat," he said.
An autopsy will be performed, Supt. Dames said.
"He is unidentified and certainly from preliminary examination of the crime scene and his body, it appears as if he may have met his demise a few hours before he had been found. We don't have an identity of this person at this stage, so we are asking the assistance of persons residing in that community of Bacardi and Cowpen Road who can assist us with any information that can identify this person, or information surrounding the death of this person," he said.
The police are in the preliminary stages of their investigation and are trying to determine why the man had been killed, he said.
"We are trying to identify who we are dealing with," Supt. Dames said.
