I request a moment of "all yinna time" to allow me to thank Myles Munroe and his people at BFM. When I was completing Filthy Rich (the movie) Myles was a critical person that removed a certain obstacle for me.

Further, I am not an official member of BFM, but his was a place that I visited several times and felt so at home. And talk about "da brudda coud talk", Myles is so eloquent and intelligent, he makes a brother read more books, and tha's not too bad.

So, Bahamians, I must officially thank him. And I also hope that more religious leaders open their hearts to the youth (like BFM does) and to the artists/creators, and the true spirituality. We are all family, and should always love each other.

Stay strong Myles....

....

I thoroughly agree as I read two of his books while home for the Christmas holiday and I am presently reading another.

Yes Myles is brilliant. And the way he runs the behind the scenes end of his institution is great. He seems to fund so many positive endeavors, etc.

I've respected this man from the time he came on the scene... I remember while in college in North Carolina and even after that everywhere our church went, whenever they found out I was from The Bahamas, the first thing they would ask me if I knew Dr.Miles Munroe... What I think I like most about him he is not a PREACHER per say he is a TEACHER... He make u read!!!!:cutie:

Anyone who can ignite a passion for reading in the male population of the Bahamas is worthy of recognition and applause.

For real, bruddas dem need to get more academic. It is challenging when you know that lots of the academic writing is copied from cultures that GET no play/respect. I.e. stolen knowledge. But you have to inspire yourself to master the master's academics, so you can master the world.

Interesting post. But you must admit that Myles makes a positive impact on the community. Or do you think it's a negative one, overall. I think he sets a clear example of strong spirituality and business. I don't know of any abuses. From a spiritual perspective, you sound like you have ya head on, consider emailing or meeting with him and discussing what you think are deficiencies. He's pretty humble and down to Earth. Either he'll find he has some TINGS to work on, or you may find that what you thought were flaws were not. Communication dread, it's all about "chit chattin".

Be good, talk later.

We can all learn from each other, even if such discussion just reinforce our position, communication doesn't hurt. I'm a talker, I don't mind cause it is refreshing but also, maybe I'll learn, or someone will learn from my successes and failures. No need to reinvest the darn wheel, I say, as has been said before us.... Take that bad boy (wheel) and zip down the road of success.

Hell yea. . .he most definitly had a significant impact on the "upper class" bahamas. .. mostly!

Dats what cosed me ta read some of his books on leadership . . .even attended one of dem internation leadership conferences! Den I started ta look fer the "real" change he and his members put-out! But lo and behold. . .dat "leadership and power" day talked was "turned inward on themselves" and seemed ta have "benefited" only dem. . .day don wan even be around anyone who day percieved to "not be walkin like we" and socially isolated "day and day tings" from the people who need if most!

Hence, day become a "society" unto demselves and da "poor and destitutes" are not a part of their world. . .nor can day be! Thus, da mantal of real change-leadership. . .where it counts fer heaven. . .is lost! It seems like day set da social bar so high. . .day een gatta tell da poor ta stay out. . .dem poor people just naturally know dat day carn fit in dere!

Nah as for him being an excellent businessman. . .he gat dat dawn ta a science. . .and he teach his people how ta succeed as well. . .no problem dere!

But I looked fer him ta "look people inna day eye" and push fer dat radical "heavely focused" leadership for comprehensive social change. . .dat he always preache about. . . where da destitutes can get "lil bit of da rain" too!!

And don tink dem "hang-ups" I have wid him are "defficiencies". . .but failure ta "follow-through" wid what I tot was da beginning of real leadership inna dis nation! And in contrast, day could be flaws inna my social expectations. . .however, wid him or me. . .they stink ta high heaven!:cutie:
