Don't know I was just watching American news. bahamiangoddess 01-08-08, - 06:56 PM I know a lot of foreigners will slip through the system. I remember in the general elections in the U.K, Bahamian students living in apartment units were sent ballots in the mail. They actually voted for Tony Blair. canesfins 01-08-08, - 07:37 PM Do you think that system can work here? If yes, why, if not, why not? Remember this is a primary in NH, not a general election. I dont think you can register the day of the general election. FACTS ONLY 01-08-08, - 07:52 PM Remember this is a primary in NH, not a general election. I dont think you can register the day of the general election. Thats good but I'm still surprised one can register to vote in a Primary minutes before they vote. Quite a few who were interviewed say they have NO IDEA who to vote for. They intend to decide when the moment comes. So............where do they get the results of the various the polls?......................Seems like a canidate NEED MOMENTUM!! canesfins 01-08-08, - 10:50 PM Thats good but I'm still surprised one can register to vote in a Primary minutes before they vote. I remember in the general elections in the U.K, Bahamian students living in apartment units were sent ballots in the mail. They actually voted for Tony Blair. In many jurisdictions throughout the world voter registration takes on a less drastic persona than it does in The Bahamas. In my municipality here in Canada every resident is eligible to vote in all elections. In fact, registering is as simple as ticking a box on your driver's license renewal form. At the time of voting, no photo ID is required and there are lots of non-citizens who cast ballots. This is not seen as a problem as the electorate is quite advanced in their thinking, considering that those voters are most likely paying taxes and are therefore entitled to have a say in how those tax dollars are spent. Notwithstanding, the average voter turnout is just above 60% in any race. Ting-um 01-09-08, - 12:10 AM Well Momentum didnt work for Obama tonight. The Clinton express will now bury him The sad part is that she decided to make her message about "change" - which is garbage. A campaign based on change is the dumbest political move, but stupid fell for it when Obama said it and they fell for it when Clinton said it. |
