View Full Version : Axis of Evil - The Harald Fuhrmann Issue Traveler 01-26-03, - 11:53 AM STAR, see my letter to Delroy from today. Thank you for your attention. Do you mind to help me (if you can)? Thanks Harald Lisa 01-27-03, - 12:51 PM Mr. Fuhrmann has been fighting for justice in his case for eight years! I have been searching, hoping and waiting for justice for four years. How long does it take?! Star is absolutely right. We cannot just tell the man to shut up and go away if he has legitimate complaints and problems. It is because he has been turned away by too many already that he has taken this more public approach. As Star says - Think about if this happened to you. And Kirtland, how can you suggest that Mr. Fuhrmann should just accept his losses and walk away? That's not right. What you are suggesting is that he should just allow injustice to occur. NO! Would you allow wrongs to go "unrighted"? Christianity isn't about going to church every Sunday and memorising Bible passages and saying, "God Bless". Christianity is about fighting! Fighting for good, for light, for justice, for GOD! Fighting everyday against sin and evil and corruption. There is an old saying that goes something like: "If you see evil and do nothing, you are more evil than the evil you have seen" Delroy 01-27-03, - 04:22 PM Mr. Fuhrmann, The only way that you can fight this case is to start fresh. The only people that can help you right now is the Bahamian public. You have used our media but under the wrong circumstances and therefore the media has used you. There are many Bahamians that can help you or give direction in your situation but I feel that those persons have been turned away by the content on your websites. Turn that content into an appeal to the Bahamian public. Again! Start fresh, don't allow your emotions to control your thinking. Instead of pursuing conflict with the public, pursue sympathy. This I am sure you will get when you tell your story under the right circumstances because you have gotten my sympathy. Don't allow the media to have something to say about you that is negative and true. We have all made past errors in our lives and anyone can understand that but let that be the past and not the present. I don't care which organization you are, whether it be the Bahamas Bar Association, the Courts or the Prime Minister himself, “The public holds the leash.” The reason why this is taking so long for you is because you haven't really sought the sympathy of the public. When I first heard about you Mr. Fuhrmann all I heard about were the negative things that you are doing and I am sure that this was the case for other Bahamians who heard about you for the first time. Start fresh! This is the right and fastest way to get results. Traveler 02-04-03, - 07:03 AM Delroy, I was waiting for some other replies. But I appreciate the most what you are saying. You are also right that you have to pursue sympathy. This is what I tried between 1993 till the year 2000. Unfortunatelly without success. Consequently I tried to involve the public by having a press meeting at the Marriott. The frustration continued because all my suggestions mostly have turned of deaf ears. How can you bring light in injustice? By the way I guess that as long the media published something it was never negativ. But I do not agree that the public holds the leash in the Bahamas. Drexel Gomez told the media that Bahamians are frustrated. So I am. I have no other experience that specially lawyers, corrupt people, drug dealers, wrong people in the government........ have THE power in this country. Therefore you have injustice as well. I tried already to start fresh concerning my dispute with my former brother in law. I was very happy when I got aquaintance with a new lawyer two years ago. He told me that the judge would go through the case once more. Do NOT think something happened later on. I am willing to talk with a judge, with public prosecution or with the A/G. My letters are unanswered not only since weeks. And from my point of view even the Prime Minister Perry Christie put additional harm on me. Where is the letter I have been asked to pass him and where is the answer? I do not conceal that I feel like a stray dog in the Bahamas. And not only the PM ignorance caused additional websites. My Bahamian friends are telling me that I should not give up. In case somebody could give me a good and clear advice how to stop the dispute I do not mind to solve the problem in a fair way. Delroy, which procedures do you recommend? Harald Fuhrmann Rory 02-11-03, - 08:13 AM Originally posted by Traveler In case somebody could give me a good and clear advice how to stop the dispute I do not mind to solve the problem in a fair way. yep, give up. if you married a bahamian woman then you should have known what the bahamas is like before you invested here. life goes on. Traveler 02-11-03, - 08:40 AM What is the Bahamas like? In other words you accept my meaning? Harald Proud Open Mind 02-13-03, - 02:14 PM Mr. Fuhrmann, I can appreciate your frustrations over your perception of being wronged. But your response to that is to seek to destroy the country and the livelihoods of the 300,000 citizens and residents who call it home. Instead of just railing unfairly and biasedly against the entire country, why didn't you focus your commentary on the Internet just on those issues that you have a problem with? Why not explain that despite the problems of our country, that there are also certain positive elements which has led to us being the most prosperous independent country in the region? A more balanced assessment would have concluded that if we don't get a handle on some of those very real problems and issues we have, we would find that we will lose our position and our prosperity. But you come off as childish and petulant when you would seek to destroy an entire country because you felt you got shafted. You would be a lot more credible if you sought to be more balanced and fair. Something to think about..... star 02-18-03, - 06:24 PM  Hey! I posted before without realising that there was a website dedicated by this previous resident that disparaged The Bahamas so savagely. Now, I feel for Harald if he was abused and treated badly during his time here - especially where money is concerned. But c'mon guy, that site is kinda harsh. Not only that, but it reminds me of people who resort to name-calling instead of addressing the real issue. It would have been much more effective to do a site outlining what happened in his instance. :board2: That site is juvenile to say the least... and it draws away from his plight. That said, if he was trying to get some attention to the bullcrap that obviously happened to him dong ere in de islands, he surely has done that. Everyone in the damn country now knows about his site - and therefore the rather seedy side of Nassau life. What I wanna know is... has he received any positive action because of all this?? Traveler 02-26-03, - 10:30 AM Hi, STAR, I got good responds on being in various message boards. I cannot expect that Bahamians are happy what we have to talk about. I received positive and negative replies. If you do not mind you can read more at www.bahamas.net.tc. I expect that the Attorney General includes in his announced investigation the details of "my adventurous trip through the world of the Bahamas legal scenery". Lawyers, the Bahamas Bar, the government and the Attorney General know about my Bahamas dispute but due to additional time passed I suggested to attend at an international press conference, either in Munic or in Berlin, at the world´s largest fair for tourism, which starts on the 7th of March. There we can discuss the marketing slogan „It´s better in the Bahamas“ and why I do have a te-year wrangle with the legal profession? It is astonishing to me that lawyers and public prosecutors are able to ignore legitimate complaints. This is something that needs to be examined in the interest of Bahamian economic development, as the case is not the only instance of dissatisfaction among foreign investors. Not even the head of the Bahamas Bar, Dr. Peter Maynard, has commented on the inherent injustice of denying foreigners fair treatment and equality under the law. Nor has there been any sign that the government or the Bahamas justice system is willing to make improvements in the way it operates, so that those problems don't occur again. For instance, is has been suggested that there be the development of guidelines to ensure fair treatment for everyone under the law, including the establishment of an acceptable fee scale, a code of ethics, and the creation of a legal ombudsman. In my opinion, Dr Maynard, is morally obliged to make it clear just where the Bar Association stands on this matter. The Bar is not saying anything on these important moral issues yet is obliged to protect the public's right of access to the courts and to ensure that lawyers represent their clients professionally. Perhaps Dr Maynard could say why the Bar could not his complaint file? And why he still has not received a response to his complaint even after forwarding a second copy of the file months ago? Unfortunately, some sections of the media do not do enough to expose the hucksters among the Bahamian legal profession. The Bahamas needs to set up a commission of inquiry into the legal profession and the entire system of justice, where there is a serious lack of efficiency, transparancy, accountability and responsibility. Bahamas Consult would not have published www.the-bahamas.de if there would have been a fair treatment from the legal profession of the Bahamas, right up to the Office of the Attorney-General. Bahamas Consult would not have published www.lawer.bahamas.net.tc if they would have heard something on these important moral issues by the Bahamas Bar Association. Bahamas Consult wouldn't have published [url]www.haraldfuhrmann.eu.tc if some parts of the media had not ignored the complaints. Even www.bahamas-consult.us.tcwould not have published if the Bahamas Investment Authority had assisted with the problem. Bahamas Consult would not have published www.focusbahamas.net.tc if the Prime Minister had not shown his complete indifference to the plight. The question is - who harmed who first? The lack of appropriate response from lawyers, the Bar Associuation, the government and even the prime minister will lead to more web sites, including a message board (www.bahamasforum.net.tc) which will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of travelling to and investing in the Bahamas. Both Attorney General, Alfred Sears, and Minister of Tourism, Obie Wilchcombe, are called to take part at the press meeting in Germany. Traveler 02-26-03, - 10:32 AM Don´t think that I feel comfortable in publishing all the websites and and answering hundreds of emails. And when I put first one foot on Bahamian soil I never expected that I would be treated so bad in this country. And in addional I am frustrated that the Bahamas government publish broschures with untrue contents. The Bahamas with all the crime, corruption, drug dealing and high murder rate for instance is not a paradise. It might be a paradise for a certain clique of Bahamians, for lawyers, for criminals or corrupt people. Unfortunatelly in the Bahamas we have a few innocent people because as long as there is injustice in this country and as long as no one is doing anything about it at least the majority is guilty of allowing the nation to become what it has become! Harald Fuhrmann asterz57 02-27-03, - 12:04 PM I understand how Mr. Harald Fuhrmann feels that he had been dealt a bad deal, but the way in which he went about everything was wrong. He took what a few Bahamians did him and turned it around and relaliated against the entire Bahamas. I feel that instead of bad-mouthing the Bahamas on that website, he should have talked about what was done to him and the way he went about trying to correct the problem and the fact that nothing happened as a result. He just went about doing everything in the wrong way, and I give him wrong for that. He was treated unfairly and I think that something should be done to help him and his problem. I dont know why everyone is so worried. #1 - noone ever visits his web sites except for bahamians who read about it in the local newspaper! #2 - people talk bad on web sites, about the US, but that doesnt stop people from going there to work, invest, or simply live. so .... who cares!! Traveler 02-28-03, - 10:39 AM Answer the headline by yourself! And you do not like justice? Let your friends know too! Can you count? I do publish also press releases. I have a list of 6oo adresses. Each magizine or newspaper has at least 100 000 readers. This means I reach 60 Million people one time. And this is in Europe only. I did not add the American adresses. Oh boy, it is good that God do not know you. WAKE UP! You do not want a better future in the Bahamas! DavidB 08-13-04, - 11:45 AM What can drive a man to display so much hate towards a country that so many people love and pay hundreds of dollars to visit each day? Harald Fuhrmann is a German investor who has flooded the Internet with websites such as this one: http://www.focusbahamas.net.tc/ in an effort to discourage visitors from coming to the Bahamas. He accuses Bahamian lawyers and even the Bahamas Bar Association of corruption. Also he accuses the Bahamian "Mafia" (whatever that is) of controling our legal system. He claims to have lost thousands of dollars because of the our legal system and that the Bahamas is “America's Bad Neighbour”. In this mans eyes our entire legal system appears to be an “Axis of Evilxis of Evil”. I have my own views about Mr. Fuhrmann but I would like to hear yours first. Please post your feelings on this issue here. I must add my ten cents worth. I am not aware of mr. Fuhmans words nor have i read his articles. However, in my recent experiences in the bahamas, I cxan tell you that there is much that needs to be fixed. Sadly, i am a tourist and have been here many times. I love the cpountry and for the most part its residents. But, if you can honestly believe that things are completely normal here, then yuo must rethink your position. I have been witness to corruption on the highest level. I have seen thngs here that would not be allowed in the rest of the world. For a country that prides itself on being christian based, it saddens me that so much does go on here and is ignored all the way up to the government. I am not a hate monger, nor do i spread malicious rumors, i only speak the truth. If anyone would like to talk to me about changing some things. Please email me at daddav23@aol.com Thank You Delroy 08-13-04, - 11:59 AM I must add my ten cents worth. I am not aware of mr. Fuhmans words nor have i read his articles.
