110 Votes will be thrown out of the election results. Disregarding those persons who were ineligible due to lack of citizenship, what about those persons who were put into wrong areas due to errors by the Parliamentary Register or were told they could not transfer when they were in fact eligible to transfer. These persons were disenfranchised by the very system that was suppose to ensure that every Bahamian citizens be afforded the opportunity to vote.

In light of this, I now believe that the constituents of Pinewood should have been allowed to go back to the polls. If I was one of those 110 and my vote was removed due to faults of the Parliamentary Department, I would be suing somebody.

How many of the 110 were "disenfrachised". My guess is probably very few.

What you are saying, Goddess is that those 110 votes must go somewhere else?

This all goes back to my post on another thread, the biggest SCAM was the former Government producing a "Smokes and Mirrors" boundaries commission.

Its not only the former government, both governments have played games with the boundries. Of the 110 my guess is the vast majority were either not citizens or not "residents" in the constituency and very few were a victim of being told to vote in the wrong constituency.

Regardless Alyson needs 88 FNM 22 PLP...I dont think that is likely since the votes were almost split in half.

Go where??? Elections are over, but from the trial, evidence has surfaced that some of the errors, as it relates to those persons who were not ordinary residents, occurred due to faults of the Parliamentary Registrar Department.

There were persons who went to PR to transfer and were not allowed to do so.

This is a shame. My vote won't count because some clerk or revising officer could not read a map, or is not familiar with the Parliamentary Act? This should never happen. It is not the fault of the voter.

When we register, we have a reasonable expectation, the person prepping our document know what they are doing. I see grounds for a lawsuit.

Along this same line...How does it work when they place persons that live in the same household in different polling divisions?

If it was one person, it should not happen. One vote can be the difference between a win and a loss.

EVERY VOTE COUNTS!

Just another error.

That is the reason why voters should be given ample time to collect their cards and return for changes if needed. If you issue cards today and dissolves the House tomorrow, there is no way changes can be made.

Once the House is dissolved, there can be no changes to the register, where ever you are, you shall remain.

Many of those who were sworn in as Revising Officers, were done so based on SENIORITY, even though it was evident they could not read a map or knew the Parliamentary Act.

I was seconded to the Parliamentary Registration Dept for the 2002 elections. I was sent on mobile registration with Senior revising officers because they could not read a map properly. Ask them today and some of them cannot tell you "who is a Bahamian"The clerks in charge of registering is responsible for a lot of the mess.

Notice all registration stations had maps of Nassau or Grand Bahama. These maps have all that information.

I remember having people who did not know their lot numbers call their neighbours to get their's, then use the map with the person, to pinpoint their exact location.
