My parents were married in a 'family island', I was born in an 'family island', I was said raised in an outer island, without ever having to kick aside spent gun shells in order to get to get to my capitail city car parking space. I'd have to be suidical to have thoughts of relocating to Nasau?/Paridise(spelling?) isle from the relatively save 'family' islands - freeport excluded.
I do support bahamians moving away from Nassau and Freeport to small towns in order to avoid corruption.

I'd love to live on a FI.
GB, Exuma, Eleuthera and Acklins are calling me. lol
I have family roots in Andros, so that rounds out the top 5 for me.

Islanders are very warm and welcoming.

I am drawn to Abaco. I have no roots there but I have been to that island often. I like it.

I would, only where my roots are from, to help with economic and historical development of the community.

Good choices especially Eleuthera.. Governors Harbour simply the best.

If i had a choice seeing that my roots are in Eleuthera i'd move to ..ummm Exuma no wait have roots there also..ummm Great Harbour Cay or Inagua.

Well I'm a family island girl, born and raised and lemme tell ya, as a child I longgggggged to live in Nassau. I thought Nassau was the most exciting place in the world compared to my little "dry" island and that Nassauvians were extremely lucky (my mother is a Nassauvian so I spent almost half the year there every year.)

But now that I'm grown, I am so thankful for my family island upbringing and wouldnt trade it for the world! That's how family islanders are - they have a special pride for where they live so they're a little wary of strangers (especially Nassauvians) at first. BUT once you've been around a while, they treat you like family. The only two downsides of island life if you're from the city are: 1) the fact that things are less readily available (i.e. stores close early, less entertainment, less fast food places (or none at all)

and

2) at first you may be shocked at all the gossip and rumors that circulate about you - why you're really on the island, what you're like, who you've been seen with late at night - .lol.
But soon you'll come to realize they mean no harm, they just literally have nothing better to do than sit on their porches, gossip and make up stories - it's the highlight of their day.

So true so true..you could just reach in on bahamasair and before you get home you live in governors and lorene from savanah sound know you in town lol island people i love em to death.

Also what you missed out its more peaceful..not alot of traffic and cars on the road everyone is friendly when passing cars in eleuthera you gotta do the "two finger hail" the beaches are more better and never crowded some days when you go to the beach its just you and the elements..ahhhhh i miss those days. I'd trade this city life for my simple island life anyday!..who needs fast food with that good cookin..*sighs* one day soon.
