Without sounding like a smartazz, all the scientists and rocket scientists can tell us is that it will land exactly somewhere on Earth.
With the Earth 70% water, its probably going to be an ocean landing (statistically speaking).
Thats about all they're sure of.

I just wanted to see if they are warning people to watch out. That sounds like it could wipe out a good sized population if it lands.

it will burn up substantially upon re-entry to the atmosphere. Don't expect a full satellite to end up in your backyard.

If anything does come down on land, it will be small pieces of very hot molten metals.

More likely, the satellite will burn up completely in the atmosphere leaving its elemental atoms to rain down completely undetected.

the problem is that the satellite isn't dead, it's deaf. They can't control it, so they don't know where it will enter the earths atmosphere to determine where it will ultimately land.

Stay tuned, I'm thinking the US missel defense shield will be used to test their ability to shoot down a supersonic object.
