I would certainly like an answer to this one ...

Genesis 3: 21 - 24
http://bible.gospelcom.net/cgi-bin/bible?passage=GEN+3

21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life

Where is the garden of Eden?

Verse 24, says man was drove out and Cherubims and a flaming sword was placed at the east of the garden. Genesis chapters 1 and 2 talk about the rivers which I veleive are in Africa, so what happened to the garden of Eden,
did it just disappear with the cherubims and the flaming sword?

Your question was, "Where is the Garden of Eden?"

If you believe the Garden was a place then no one knows where it was, exactly. There are many theories but no one has found a sign that says "Welcome to the Garden." No one has found two Cherubim armed with flaming swords. Most importantly, no one has found the two trees that were in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and most importantly the second tree - the tree of life. Some Christian denominations believe that God "transported" the Garden up to heaven.

If you believe that the Garden was a metaphor, or a symbol, then the Garden is all around you. The Cherubim represent fear and ignorance that is keeping us from the second tree - the tree of life. Religion should help us find that tree, which is not really a tree - that is just a symbol. Religion should break down fear, it should dispel ignorance and leave us free to "pick the fruit" from that second "tree" and eat!

That tree was the Tree of Life. Jesus said, I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly." It was not for nothing that Jesus was crucified on a cross, often called a "tree." For the Christian, Jesus is the path. Perhaps for the Christian he is the tree itself.

An answer, yes! But not the best answer, but it is one that satisfies some.
