With the fear of Crime nationwide, why is it that Batelco would not repair telephones that suddenly went 'out of order' 2 weeks ago, not everybody has a 'cell phone' or if they are lucky enough to 'borrow' one from a friend is able to use it. I am a senior citizen that is unable to use a cell phone, and I am in poor health and need a phone to call for medical, police, or help from my friends or family members, some of whom have also had their telephones put out of service. I might like to add that there is no money owing on my telephone account, I pay my bills monthly and sometimes duplicate payment as their billing service has much to be desired.
I have told 914 about my state of health and that I am a senior living alone, but they could care less! I can be murdered in my bed and not able to even call for help!.... and for this I am paying my bills every month with not enough money left over to pay for decent medical attention or pay for medication, the PMH has run out of medication that I need to take daily, I was told to go to any Pharmacy to get it refilled, but I do not have the money, and with no phone, I can't even call for someone to take me to the emergency room when I take a turn for the worse because I am not taking my pills anymore.
Just had to get this all off my chest, and let someone know how the Bahamas treats it's senior citizens!
