You may recall that in my previous newsletter, I spoke of the “church in the wilderness” as a time of preparation for God’s wandering people, a time when the cave dwellers, the walking wounded, and those escaping from church abuse were/are being prepared as a holy remnant , linking up with others all over the world.
It was becoming evident as we emerged, that our flight from the religious organisations was God led; that he was birthing “a new day” for an awesome end time move of the Holy Spirit, and to perfect the bride for her Bridegroom.
We have watched the re-establishment of the five-fold ministry gifts (Ephes 4:11 and on), and we are understanding that these are not Offices or Titles, but merely functions/jobs to be done for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry.
We have understood that the pyramidal structure that presently exists: with the pastor at the apex of the pyramid, above all the rest of the body in a heirarichical structure, must give way to God’s perfect design of a circular structure, with the five fold and the rest, surrounding Christ who is at the centre, in the MIDST of the lampstands. Although the church has come to accept the ministry gifts of Evangelists,Pastors and Teachers, there has been a reluctance to accept the gifts of the Prophet and the Apostle.
This is partly because these gifts have been so abused—some so gifted have acted as if they were some superior brand of Christian, automatically holy, incapable of making mistakes esp. in hearing the Voice of God,and demanding absolute obedience, much financial gain and great power over their followers. In fact, instead of making the flock disciples of Christ, they make disciples to themselves,and elevate themselves almost to the level of God Himself. The Bible calls these blind guides, clouds without rain.
But all is not lost—there is arising, coming up out of the wilderness, a true church, true apostles and prophets,true evangelists, pastors and teachers, those who have died to their flesh, who desire God’s agenda above their own—in fact they HAVE no agenda but His,
who recognise that all power is really His; who will not compromise the TRUTH of His word, and who are truly humble, pride having been broken in their wilderness experience;who love not their lives unto death. These are they who do not run after titles and riches and lofty positions and have no desire to be served,but who desire to serve Christ’s body, love the brethren sacrificiallyand genuiniely, and want no glory for themselves.
These do their good deeds in secret. These have a burning passion for Christ and His work; and this passion propels them with great energy to do the works of Him who has called them out of darkness into His marvellous light. Their eyes are not on a man or woman leader, but are on HIM.
These have an understanding of “present truth”, the “third day church”, the “seventh millenium” not as catch words to be parroted about to show how current they are, but as those who have understood the revelation of the mystery of Christ and the mystery of the church, and are allowing God to place them and fit them as lively stones where He desires.
To effect this, the apostolic is being restored , not by the will or desire of man, but by the will of God. The true apostolic minister will be one raised up and sent by God, with the spirit of wisdom; a fathering spirit; ability to govern with equity and righteous thinking; an undersdtanding of the true wealth of the kingdom , and signs wonders and miracles will attend their ministry. May God grant us the strength to come up out of the wilderness, a place of dryness and barrenness-, discernment to recognise His true five fold minsters, the wisdom to embrace present truth, and the power of God (Luke 4:13—15) for this new season defeat the works of darkness, and establish His kingdom in us and then in the world.
He lives and reigns forever!!.Praise His wonderful name!!
